In this sweeping finale to the best-selling Heart of Enquiry series, a flawed heroine seeking redemption finds the hero who is everything she needs...but who can't give her the one thing she wants.

Her Goal is Respectability

The product of her mama's youthful indiscretion, Primrose Kent makes the painful discovery that, in Society's eyes, neither her beauty nor her charm can overcome the fact that she's a bastard...and one with a murky past. After her attempts to gain respectability backfire, Rosie resorts to desperate measures to salvage her reputation. Yet her plan leads to further peril and throws her into the arms of a devilishly attractive man: A stranger who feels achingly familiar...and who will guarantee her ruination.

His Business is Scandal

A former prostitute and now the owner of London's most successful pleasure house, Andrew Corbett is certain of one thing: He's no gentleman. His notoriety has never bothered him until he encounters Primrose Kent, the girl he'd once loved like a sister, but who, as a woman, captures his heart in an entirely different way. He'll stop at nothing to protect Rosie from her enemies...but he must also shield her from his own ungovernable desires.

Their Attraction is Irresistible... and Dangerous

As Rosie and Andrew struggle to contain their passion and a love too powerful to resist, danger stalks their every move. They must battle not only their present foes but the looming shadows of the past. In their journey to happily ever after, the pair discover that love isn't what you think you want...but what you truly need.

Don’t skip this one!

Must listen!
After reading the reviews for this book, I almost didn’t follow through with listening to it. Thankfully, there was one review on Goodreads that changed my mind. She was passionate about how the journey of self discovery made this book extraordinary. I agree entirely.
Primrose is vain and self important but deep inside, where she doesn’t even know it exists, is something entirely different. If you stop listening to this book because Rose drives you insane, you are missing out. I have to admit I wanted to stop, she was making stupid decisions, and I can’t stand flighty female heroines. That is not who she is, she is a beautifully written character. If only you take the time and listen.
Andrew is wonderful and is such a gentleman. His journey breaks your heart. As a listener, see past your judgments and look to what he went through and how he was still able to forgive and be kind and generous. He is another extremely well written character.
Andrew and Rose complement each other so well. I’m glad the series ended with their story. Thankfully the next series has my favorite hunk in it, Harry. Since I’ve already listen to it, I can tell you for sure that you better mark some time off your calendar to listen to that series. It is pretty damn awesome.

Am I the only one?

*Spoilers* - As much as I did not like this book I did finish it to try to give it a full, accurate, & fair review. However, I did speed up the narration quite a bit.

Marian Hussey's performace is always pleasant, no complaints there (not the best male voices out there, but this is a very subjective judgement/opinion). Her female and children (both boys & girls) voices are great.

I am slightly astonished that the negative things said about this book are regarding the heroin & not about the fact that the "hero" was basically her guardian until she was 5 years old (he was 18). I mean he wasn't legally her guardian, but he was her primary care giver...
But then to down play and distract(?) from that creepy aspect of the plot by adding the other guy who purchased her as a child bride. For me, that did not hide that it is still disturbing. I think if Grace Callaway had made him younger or her older & him not a father figure it would have been better. They do later say it was more of a big brother/younger sister relationship, but in my opinion, in the flashbacks it felt & sounded more fatherly.

I actually kind of liked the heroin, Was she my favorite? No, she was not. Was she the worst? No, she was not. I don't think she was nearly as annoying or manipulative or whatever else the negative comments are saying, in fact she originally didn't even want to take her inheritance because she felt guilty. So I am not entirely sure why there are negative comments about her and one in particular stating, "Rose was the most sef centered "heroine" EVER!! SELFISH, whiney, manipulative I've yet to encounter from Ms.Calloway". In my opinion she was not. I think at most she is niave and immature.
I do think that she is a young lady (regardless of the time) who tried to make the best of her life based on the judgements and the world she lived in at the time.

ugh! Worst "heroine " ever

I really disliked Rosei almost wished Andrew ended up with someone else, because he was awesome. Rose was the most sef centered "heroine" EVER!! SELFISH, whiney, manipulative I've yet to encounter from Ms.Calloway, which I'm a huge fan of. Even to the very end, I found nothing redeemable in her. The rest of the series was awesome. This one, you should skip.
