This is very different from K.A. Merikan’s usual stories who tend to be somewhat darker and quite intense emotionally, whereas this historical coming of age story is lighter and at times even slightly comical. Benjamin is so earnest, but also incredibly naïve and easily misled. This is not per se a love story, though the MC’s do end up quite happily together. I really enjoyed listening to this original story and thought the historical perspective on sexuality and health very fascinating to say the least. This little gem was a perfect means to escape the daily drudgery.

Narration: James Reily is an amazingly gifted narrator. He does so well with the distinct voices and accents for all the different characters and has the most wonderful, warm and expressive voice. I could listen to him for hours on end.

Wow, I loved this. The use of historical ideas about sexual health was just fascinating to read about from a first person perspective. I'd read above the ills of self pollution in non-fiction but this imagining of what that might look like for a person alive at the time who genuinely believed it was just such a cool perspective. And there was a very satisfying love story and a journey of self discovery too, which were both engaging. The happy ending left me quite satisfied.

Narrator James Reily delivered an entertaining funny as fuck, a smutty smut-smut little firecracker. Listeners will be bowled over by the filthy ridiculousness of the pompous English regency with a vengeance. What, a stellar performance? Best is James has done it with such a straight face, I wasn’t sure if the authors intended it to be a comedy, satire, or maybe it’s just my sick sense of humor. OMG, I loved it!

There is no way I’m talking about the characters or the plot itself. I’m not going to spoil a drop of it. Just know that Benjamin is gay, horny, and search for help to treat his “affliction”, from a doctor, but although the treatment works, it also backfires. The shenanigans are all so preposterous that you are guaranteed to find yourself spewing oral contents within a radius of 2 meters. So move back and away from all electrical apparatus.

Self pleasure is a dangerous activity for a young gentleman – this is a fact Benjamin Snowley knows is true. However, despite his best attempts, and his increasing anxiety, he cannot stop touching himself. It’s a moral crisis that’s sapping both his physical health and moral standing. He cannot continue like this for much longer before he is left a ruined husk of himself. So it is by pure good fortune that Benjamin is referred to a doctor who has just the solution for him: if Benjamin cannot stop spilling his seed from self pleasure, then he must replace the seed he spills with seed from willing donors. And with that fanciful “medical” solution, Benjamin embarks on one of the hottest, most arousing sexcapades I have ever read about.

This novella was a pure pleasure to devour. It was an indulgent chocolate lava cake with some sweet whip cream on top – just pure, unadulterated enjoyment. This novella was an overflowing cornucopia of sex and pleasure, but it still managed to have an intriguing, if simple, plot with delightful characters and a surprisingly tender romance. Benjamin stole my heart with his innocence, naivety, and pure delight in carnal pleasure (although he would deny it). Fredrick was the perfect foil to Benjamin, and was a wonderful mix of dominant and gentle.

This was the first book I’ve heard narrated by James Reilly and I was extremely impressed. He has a beautiful voice that I found very pleasing to listen to. He didn’t just narrate this book, but performed it—I could feel the nuanced emotions of the characters, especially in the more heated moments. I had no trouble following along since James did a fantastic job of differentiating his characters’ voices and keeping the each character’s voice consistent. I will definitely listen to another audiobook by James in a heartbeat.

Overall, I loved this book, although I wished it was longer. But, I will warn you, this book will not be everyone’s cup of tea, so make sure you read the warnings. However, if you are like me and enjoy some wonderful unique and kinky sex scenes, with adorably conflicted characters, and a warm romance, then this is definitely the book for you.

This book is a hot story in an historical setting. While in school Benjamin catches Frederick and another boy in an intimate moment. Since then Benjamin has to deal with his own sexuality. This is an enjoyable book that had me laughing at times. It's hot and steamy as Benjamin tries improve his health with other men only to find Frederick there willing to help, and really the only one who cared about Benjamin.
Narrator James Reily does a fantastic job.

I liked the premise, plot a lot. I could imagine historically the problems faced with M/M relationships and rhe forbidenness of it all. the narrator was phenomenal. I wish he had more listens available!

A great regency romp! I didn't know quite what to expect when I started. I was happy that I took the journey when I was done.

This is a high steam book with wittiness, charm, some kink, exploration of self (physically and mentally), and a little love too. It packs a punch. I do, which the love part had either come sooner (pun intended) or the book be a bit longer.

Overall it's a recommend, and James Reily did a great job with his sinfully delicious vocal skills. I could listen again just to hear him.

I loved this book.
It really didn't try to be anything else other then a sexy erotica and I was ok with that.

Essentially it's about a very oblivious young man who wanks too much and to help his issues his doctor recommends seed from other men.
A silly premise but it totally works for a good erotica book.

So essentially you get to see him fumble about innocently and oblivious from scene to scene and a loose story to hold it together.

I definitely recommend it if you need a quick read that doesn't keep you waiting for the fun stuff to happen.
