Publisher's summary

The Academy: Tales of the Marketplace continues the brilliant saga of resolute slaves and exacting owners begun in previous volumes (The Marketplace; The Slave; and The Trainer). A dynamic culture of honor and duty embracing absolute servitude is the basis for the clandestine society known as The Marketplace. Sensuality, intelligence, and passion meld into exquisite eroticism and scenes of blazing sexuality. In The Academy, we follow Chris Parker and his trainee, Michael LaGuardia, to Japan, where a conclave of trainers is taking place. While the trainers swap cautionary tales and debate protocol, though, moves are being made that may change the Marketplace, and Chris's place in it, forever.

This complete, full-length novel is a rich tapestry of sexuality and emotion, augmented by the inclusion of short stories by guest authors Karen Taylor, Cecilia Tan, Michael Hernandez, David Stein, and Christian Muncy.

Hot, compelling page turner!!

My fourth of four, The Academy seemed slightly boring at first-- then it took off and I couldn't stop listening, thinking, reflecting. It is a must read. Now for part five and hopes for a part six or whole new series.

Just as expected.

Antoniou fleshes out existing storylines, closes the door on a couple, and introduces some new ones. Perfectly acted by Ms. Jasicki as usual. If you aren't already into The Marketplace series do yourself a favor and start at the beginning.

Wonderful

Loved the "ending" for Chris Parker, the stories twist at the end- even though a little disappointing, and the addition of the new characters. The setting was fantastic as set in Japan- a favorite culture. I enjoyed The Academy being longer and narrated again by the Jasicki, making the chapters and imagery come alive with a good amount of laughter...

So far the best of the series

so far this book has been the best of the series. I love the vignette style of it showing everyone's point of view. Obviously this is not the book to start with and someone looking for the super erotic continuous story of the other books will be disappointed. This shows a stronger, deeper writing style the author has though and it is fantastic!

Like the Marketplace series? Listen to this book

What did you love best about The Academy: Book Four of the Marketplace Series?

I always liked this book of the Marketplace series. The author does such a terrific job immersing us into the imagined world of Owners, Trainers, Spotters, and Slaves. Part of the reason I enjoy this book so much is that there are short stories from guest authors.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Jasicki – was your favorite?

Elizabeth Jasicki did an outstanding job with this audiobook. I cannot pick one character, well.....okay, I lied. I loved her interpretation of Chris Parker.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There is no way you can listen to this in one sitting. But I tried.

Any additional comments?

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

amazing

If you could sum up The Academy: Book Four of the Marketplace Series in three words, what would they be?

I have listened to the last 4 books at least 2 times each. I really enjoy the stories behind the slaves and trainers. This series is by far way better than fifty shades of grey.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like claudia because her character seems shy and innocent but wants to be better for her master

What does Elizabeth Jasicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She acts out the characters where as if i were to read it i couldnt make it as interesting as she does. She plays the characters well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and there were times if i missed something i would rewind it

The best story yet.

The books in The Market Place series continue to improve. The characters are well developed. The narrative is compelling and satisfying. The stage is beautifully drawn.

I look forward to acquiring the next book in the series.

Ooolala

This is my 4th full read of this series over 30 years. If you are interested in the most restrictive type of BDSM, or simply hearing about them - pick up this series.

No one conveys this hidden world better than Laura Antoniou.
