Publisher's summary

A stand-alone story in the best-selling Six Pack Ranch series by New York Times best-selling author Vivian Arend.

The best type of growing up involves getting down and dirty.

Vicki Hansol made different choices than her less-than-reputable mom and sister, yet her fiery temper has left her branded with the same town-bad-girl label. When she desperately needs a change of scenery, her get-out-of-town-free ticket arrives—and requires she face down one of her deepest fears.

Easygoing Joel Coleman has nothing to complain about, but he’s never really done anything to brag about either. The youngest member of the Six Pack Ranch is looking to make some changes in his life that include stepping out from under his twin brother’s shadow.

So when the bold beauty with the smart mouth approaches him with a proposition, Joel is intrigued. Her request for him to teach her to ride soon takes on a whole new meaning. All that passion in his arms, his bed, in the barn...hell, anywhere he can get it? Bring it on.

But tangling the sheets leads to unanticipated complications, and by the time the dust settles, everything family means is going to be challenged.

Caution: Saddle up for some youthful vigor applied with great enthusiasm. Ropes, rails, and raunchy sex—there’s more places to get dirty around the ranch than first meets the eye.

Rocking the Hard Place

Vicki Hansol is between a rock and a hard place. Thankfully, sometimes that hard place is Joel Coleman and he really rocks her world. 😘💥 They have great chemistry and utilize plenty of creativity in their location choices to have some good times. I love how they rile each other up. 😂🔥

In all seriousness, I feel bad for Vicki as she's lumped in with her sister and mother and their loose and easy reputations. Nearly everyone gives their two cents before taking a moment to get to know her. I do like that most of the Coleman clan, even those with concerns, do things with her and Joel in an attempt to change their opinions.

The reaction of at least one person is beyond childish, but it'll be interesting to see how that plays out long-term. Despite that, I love how Joel sticks to their arrangement and keeps Vicki's secrets.

This ends with more of a HFN than the prior books. As all the books in the series involve numerous members of the Coleman clan, I'm confident this isn't the last we've seen of these two. 💙💜

I received an author's copy of the audio book to accompany my paperback. The narrator is Tatiana Sokolov. She continues to do well with this varied cast of characters.

Outstanding addition to series.

This was a well thought out plot that had me well and truly captivated by the ups and downs of that the main character had to
go through before they get there happy ending.
The narrator has done a brilliant job of bringing the characters alive on the pages.

Great read! Loved the characters

I really enjoyed this one! It was a great read and really pulled me in from beginning to end. I loved Vicki and Joel and watching them come together and really get to know the other one. Vicki has been dealing with her family's reputation her entire life, even if she is nothing like her mother and sister, people still treat her like she is. She wants to get away from that and do better for herself but has had a hard time. Joel is ready to start growing up and reach the next chapter in life. He has a reputation with his twin for sharing women but he has started to outgrow that and wants to get away from that reputation as he is wanting to date and have a girlfriend and isn't planning to share with his brother in that respect. Vicki gets an amazing job offer but it includes being around horses which leaves her terrified. After a recent interaction with Joel, Vicki decides to ask him to help her out and keep it a secret. They come up with a plan to help them both out and "date" each other with all the stuff happening until it's time for the job offer with Joel getting Vicki okay to be around horses. This story really pulled me in with the way that these two interacted with each other and built their friendship and relationship. They created a great foundation which worked to get his family seeing something different in Vicki but they had some obstacles to overcome. Jesse is not on board and does not like the changes that are happening around him and with Joel so it creates a lot of contention. I really enjoyed how Vicki and Joel dealt with this. It was great getting to see the other Coleman men and their relationships progress as well as an extra bonus if you have read the previous books. This story had some hot sections but also a lot of cute and adorable ones as well with Joel and Vicki figuring out the boyfriend/girlfriend thing and trying to show the town a different side to them both. This was a great read and I really enjoyed it.
The narrator did a great job with the story as well and adding that extra dynamic.

Reputation

Rocky Mountain Rebel is Joel Coleman's story. Joel has always done everything with his twin brother, Jessie, including dating and sharing a girl friend. Joel now wants something more and something like having a serious monogamy.

Vicki Hansol has been branded as a loose woman by association of her mother and sister's reputations. And living in a small town, Vicki would never stepped out of her mother and sister's shadows. When she had the chance of leaving Rocky Mountain through a job offer, she took it. The only problem was that she was terrified of horses and need to learn how to ride one. The only person who stood up for her was Joel Coleman and he was the only person that she came close to trusting.

Joel agreed to help Vicki for the next nine months before she leave Rocky Mountain. The only thing the two didn't expected was to develop feeling for each other and were afraid of destroying each other's dreams.

During the first four books of the series, it was always Joel and Jessie. In this book, Joel may be the youngest of the Coleman's brothers but he started to be more mature than Jessie. He wanted a relationship between two people and not a threesome. The only person who couldn't understand him was Jessie and yet Jessie was his twin.

This story was more of a dynamic of twins striking through own way with a girl who stood between them. The breakaway became more clearer when Joel protected Vicki from Jessie that they were not going to do things and share things together anymore.

The narrator, Tatiana Sokolov found her footing from the last book. I'm starting to enjoy listening her narration of the story. I hope she stays on for the series.

Narrator once again does a good job.

AUDIBLE author gift23
Narrator once again does a good job.
Even though I have read this series a few times, having the audible versions is superb.
The actions of other family members should not tar everyone in that family as being the same.
Small towns can be the kindest places but also the most judgemental.
Loved how Joel and the Colemans step up but boy, isn’t Jessie being an idiot.
I was kindly gifted this audible book by the author.
BOOK REVIEW
This can be read as a standalone but it will make you want to read the other books.
Other reviews are longer but as fans of this series know, you will not go wrong reading this book. This is another great story about the Coleman family.
Joel and Vicky make a wonderful couple.
Travis and Ashley hit a problem and Jesse acts nastily and like the biggest idiot around.
Nice to have Gabe in this book and he gives Joel some good advice.
