Publisher's summary

I’m an imposter, a fraud, unwanted...but that won’t stop me from claiming her. She is part of a tortured past I’d rather forget. A flesh and blood ghost here to haunt me for my sins.

I will never forgive myself for living when my brother died. As a penance, I’m forced to live his life. To claim what should have been his birthright.

Soon, I will join the most powerful men in the world as a member of The Order of the Silver Ghost. A secret society which feeds on the weaknesses of others, glorifying in their own dominance and wealth.

Into this opulent nightmare of my own making, she reappears. I am consumed by her, just as I had once been in our past. And no matter how hard I fight against the passion that is trapped inside, she manages to haunt me more than my dead brother ever did.

She will be both my salvation...and my damnation.

Really good, minus the last 20 min

This one was so good, right up until the last 20 min. After the hottest sex scenes so far in the series it was wrapped up with the cringey moment I think I've ever read in a book.

I didn't love the heroine. A few times she acted like a petulant child. I mean just downright TSTL. Making absurd choices that impact her significantly just so she could metaphorically flip the H off. One choice in particular made her seem like a pre-teen. Yes, do that thing that will impact you horribly (because its not something you want) just to spite the H for 2 seconds. Not to mention how completely the order members actions clashed with LITERALLY every single characteristic they've been written to have. It goes against every action they've taken and all the choices they've made.

**SLIGHT SPOILER** They literally go from "Were gonna shove our cooks down your throat and ass fuck you" to "compassionate, you've passed with flying colors blah blah" GTFO. Bro literally rips his c*ck out of someone as he's about to display true compassion for this poor Belle. It'd be like writing a legitimate sociopathic serial killer and randomaly having him volunteer to go to some 3rd world country, for no other reason than because he can't stand seeing people suffer.

Another completely unrealistic element contained in the last 10 min was Montgomerys reaction to the news. Again GTFO. Even if you suspend belief which you have absolutely already done if you're diving into a book like this... but even after suspending belief his reaction is still incredibly unrealistic.

The frequency and explicit sex scenes are what saved this from being a 2.5 star book. The last 20 min were almost enough to ruin the entire thing. Overall it did ruin it, but the first 95% was a solid 4 5 star so my review is solely based on that. Outside of the sex, I also loved MCs history and most of the dynamic between them. I love that Rafe was true to himself the entire time. It wasn't one where he starts out as a jerk and finds redemption along the way because love concours all and all that jazz

Female narrator is incredible. She did better with the males than the male narrator did. He sounds geriatric and has in inflection in his voice. He's just reading the book to us.. but performing it. Now, I will say; he sounded so much better in this one than the last one.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
