What is the threshold for plagiarism?

Gotta ask myself that question as I listen to this. A play by play, modern version of Jane Eyre…pretty much to the T. Take the classic, add rock stars, and sex and there you go. Not just the same genre and trope, but pretty much the exact same storyline. Hummm…good listen just not sure I’m ok with the copy cat bit.

Loved the storyline

I loved that each character was different. The actors protested each character amazingly. There was romance and excitement. This book was very well written. I definitely recommend this book.

When you know you know.

Just Jayne is a modern retelling of the story of Jane Eyre with a twist. If you are familiar with Jane Eyre, then you know to expect the bad treatment of Jayne as well as the good. I think Ripley Proserpina did a great job making a classic book more modern and sexy to fit the modern women. I also love the narrators they fit the story perfectly.

An Old Tale with a New Twist

It was sad and beautiful ALL at the same time. I feel in love with the character and with their flaws... of course the sex was great.

Wonderfully narrated - incredible story

This is a reverse harem reimagining of Jane Eyre. The story is imaginative, sexy and sweet. Both actors are excellent.

Absolutely awful.

Here we go. I have never written a review about a book I didn't care for. I would just simply return it. But the way Jane was treated put me over the edge. I am 3 hours in and I will not be finishing it. Jane seems to be the only one in the house who cares about the little girls well being. All 4 of the male main characters would flirt with Jane in private then degrade her in public? Throws a house party where there are people having sex, handsy men, and rude hateful half-dressed women all while their daughter is locked in her room for her safety from THEIR FRIENDS. Not only do the boys treat her like trash, they allow anyone to. Jane gives and gives and gives for that little girl and they can't even show her a little freaking respect. With a past like hers, she deserved a hell of a lot better.

Mixed feelings

So, the story was decent. There’s a series by C.M. Stunich (groupie series) that’s a lot better. I felt Elizabeth Hart did a pretty good job narrating, Alexander Cendese got a little ridiculous. He did well with all the different accents, but he was REAL cheesy. There were also some confusing parts that weren’t explained very well (i would explain what but I don’t want to give out spoilers)... I’m halfway through the book and felt I needed to review now. It’s entertaining enough but I’m debating whether to finish the book or not . The 2 stars for performance were for Elizabeth. I’d actually give her a solid 4. There are much better reverse harem books out there.
