That made the encounter all the more terrifying in Alexandra’s mind and suddenly the urban legend of an entity in the woods didn’t seem like such a myth. The man’s towering frame, slim appearance, and dark suit spoke of one thing, but it was a glance up to his head that really spooked her.
“No, no, please,” she whined as features seemed to flash on and off his pale face.
It made her blink her eyes, but it wasn’t her mind playing tricks. She cried out when she bumped against another tree. Her feet continued to scuff in the dirt, but the large trunk held her in place to let the man catch up.
“Oh god, please, please,” she wailed and squeezed her eyes shut.
Nothing happened. The moment seemed to stretch out endlessly as she remained pinned against the tree trunk, and she eventually had to look. It was all she could do to take in a breath when she saw the features flash onto the man’s face again. He stood motionless at her feet and there was no doubt in her mind where he was staring. It made her look down.
In the rush to escape, she’d protected her face from branches. They’d whipped across her torso though, and she saw it had ripped open another button of her blouse. It left the material flapped open to reveal her lacy bra and cleavage. Instinct made her reach to cover her chest, but the man’s hand darted out to grab her wrist. His speed of movement caught her by surprise, with the grasp of long, slim fingers preventing her from covering herself up. It made her heart race faster still and there was no hiding the rise and fall of her voluptuous curves.
“This can’t be happening,” she gasped.
She pulled against the grip on her wrist and was allowed to free her hand, but she didn’t try to cover herself up. The man would only stop her again. His foot knocked against hers and she knew what he wanted. It made her squeeze her eyes shut again as thoughts raced through her mind.
Taking the shortcut through the woods had been a mistake and put her in the crosshairs of a monster. He showed no signs of wanting to harm her though. That wasn’t why he’d chased and caught her. His interest was in something else altogether, with his foot knocking against hers harder to give an indication of what his intentions were.
