Publisher's summary

Vivien Manning, the notorious Mistress Matchmaker, is tired. Tired of the parties, tired of the lovers, tired of being her. So she decides to leave London behind once and for all and start a whole new life. But before she goes, she must tie up some loose ends, and makes a list that includes a man she's never been fully able to let go - Benedict Greystone. Benedict was broken when Vivien broke off their affair years ago. When she comes back into his life - and his bed - he isn't certain of anything except the power of their desire. But as Vivien moves closer to disappearing forever, both of them begin to question if the past can be overcome and if love might be the one loose end that cannot be neatly tied up.

Excellent conclusion to the series

I really enjoyed reading Her Perfect Match. We finally get to read Vivian's story! I'll try very hard to not give anything away in this review (phew, this is going to be difficult). :)

The opening drew the reader right into the action and excitement of Vivian's world, but also set-up the inciting incident that would carry us through the rest of the book. From the start, I wanted to know what was so special about Benedict that Vivian would be thinking about him at time such as [in the opening]. I loved the push-and-pull between them and rooted for them right from the start. The twist about 60% into the book had me reading with my mouth opened for a good five minutes. It was brilliant and completely understandable given the circumstances. And of course, the ending was "aww"-inducing and heart-warming, even if it was a little rushed.

There are a few nit-picky things that threw me off just a bit. I mentioned earlier that I wanted to know what was so special about Benedict -- I do think that question could have been developed a little more. I never got a truly satisfactory answer to that question beyond "they loved each other." And the reveal for why the couple split up in the first place had almost no foreshadowing and probably should have come earlier than 80% into the book. The dialogue was appropriately formal (the book is set in the Regency period after all), but this formality carried through to the bedroom scenes. I found this level of formality, especially between these two characters given their background and history, just a tad too much. These issues bought the book 4 stars instead of 5 stars

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Her Perfect Match and cannot wait for the next book from Jess Michaels!

Carmen Rose was excellent with the delivery of the story.

Great end to a great trilogy

i loved this series from the start. I think I enjoyed this one the most. this author has a talent for getting you to fall in love withe the characters, flaws and all and she doesn't shy away from the love scenes. that's one of the best parts. the heroine kicks off her birthday party with a party and ends up in bed with two men at the same time!. That's my kinda heroine. This was a good story and a solid trilogy. the narration was on point. I highly recommend.

Challenges, love, friendship, wisdom, courage!

I enjoyed the 3 audiobooks how the author connected the stories…
The narrator is awesome!

Awesome opening, then downhill from there.

I have been looking for a more daring author of romances from this era, who can combine good stories with hot sex that crosses taboo lines. This series started out well, and this book began with a really hot sex scene, but the story was boring. I will continue to look for more from Jess Michael's though as I still think she's on the right track.

Hard to like Vivian

Vivian’s character in this final book in the series was very hard to like, such a depressed person in the whole story up until the epilogue. Other than their sexual match they had nothing else in their relationship. Maybe a story conveying a developed friendship with deeper connections would have made sense in a happy self made man feeling such deep emotional attachment to a “fallen” woman.

Could’ve been better

I thought this book fell short of my expectations. There were quite a bit of sex scenes however they felt repetitive because the author didn’t add more to the scenes and they felt a little rushed. The book did start out with what could’ve been mind blowing. I got frustrated with the characters. So many times I wanted him to say screw it and move on to better things. The first book of the series was so hot I had high expectations for the two following books.

Least favorite of the 3 book series

Book 1 of this series was great. Book 2 and 3 was more about the sex with a weak story line.

Kind of disgusting to me..

Any additional comments?

I'm all for sex on my books but I found the first chapter if this book quite disgusting. From all the 4 and 5 star reviews on Amazon I can tell that most of you do not, but 'to each his own' I guess. For anyone thinking of getting this book I suggest you read the sample on Amazon first. As with the other two books there was a lot of sex in the rest of the book too but it was between Benedict and Vivien only. The book became quite repetitive, inasmuch as she kept saying they couldn't be together because of their stations in life.
Of course, I new there would be a HEA but after that first chapter I just couldn't see it. She did good deeds but she was still just a skank as far as I was concerned. Sorry. This is my last book by this author. I prefer romantic sex in my books and this author makes sex as dirty as she can. I'll take Lorraine Heath or Sabrina Jeffries or Lisa Kleypas any day over this kind of writing.

As to the narrator: She did a pretty good job and some voices and terrible on others. She doesn't show any talent when it comes to whispering, sighing, laughing, etc. She just reads the book. So, no, not very good but not horrible either. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to her again.
