Part of the Crown and Glory: Lesbian Love Stories of the Black Women of Crown and Glory Natural Hair Salon series
A bold, emotionally charged, and deeply romantic novel centering queer Black love, military resilience, and the healing power of touch.
For mature audiences 18+. Contains explicit sexual content and intense emotional themes.
Toni Blake never planned to fall in love again. A Navy veteran turned natural hair stylist, Toni carries the weight of loss, duty, and caregiving on her strong, quiet shoulders. She finds solace behind the chair at Charlotte’s beloved Crown and Glory Natural Hair Salon, where sisterhood lives in every curl, twist, and braid.
Nia Douglas makes magic for a living—but her own heart is running on empty. As a luxury wedding planner with a flawless track record and a mile-long to-do list, Nia’s used to fixing other people’s love stories, not living her own. That is, until she walks into Toni’s salon with five natural-haired bridesmaids, a glam vision, and a whole lot of assumptions.
When sparks fly across the styling chair, two women from radically different worlds begin a slow, tender, and explosively sensual journey that neither expected. But love, like natural hair, isn’t about control—it’s about care, trust, and letting go.
This story is for readers who crave:
• Tender sapphic romance between strong, complex Black women
• Military-to-civilian healing and emotional vulnerability
• Authentic representation of caregiving, grief, and letting go
• Deep sensuality rooted in trust, reverence, and pleasure
• A vibrant, Black-woman-centered salon universe full of heart, community, and joy
• Real-world emotional stakes alongside heady, satisfying intimacy

Mia may be more experienced with sex, but she is also inexperienced when it comes to relationships, as she hasn't had one.
It is a sweet story in my opinion, and though there are trigger warnings, I felt there really were no triggers as everything was gently written.
Virtual voice for this book wasn't as bad as it is on some other books. mature content really doesn't rate a chili, but I will be nice and give it one 🌶️🔥
