One minute Lily is trying, and failing, to run her grandmother’s farm - her last remaining connection to her family. The next, she wakes to find herself in a cold, sterile cage surrounded by monsters, with no memory of how she got there. Accidentally abducted by alien poachers, unsure if she will live or die, she is dreading the worst. What she doesn’t expect is for her captors to dump her on an alien planet to fend for herself. Now, she must fight to survive the planet...or die trying.
Frrar, Tor, and Arruk have been searching endlessly for a mate to belong to, someone to finally accept them, but they are losing hope. The time of cleansing, when the great waters drown the land, draws near. They are on the verge of abandoning their search and fleeing the forest when they spot a strange, tiny, two-armed female. They are immediately drawn to her, fascinated by her differences, but they must act fast to save her life, and their own, from the coming flood.

The story telling is on par for the genre, but there is a LOT of internal monologue. I don’t mind that either, but some people will complain about it.
I appreciate that the spice is spaced out and a medium/slow burn. She doesn’t jump right into a 4some with a bunch of aliens. The language barrier is enough to keep it interesting and give some depth and context to the relationship building. Even some laugh out loud moments!
Duet narration… sort of

One of the reasons I enjoyed the series so much is because Stacy wrote a mature character that found herself in an unexpected situation. She didn't whine. There was no angst and she just got on with things.
The narration was great and I loved the male voices.
I have the entire ebook of the series on Kindle and now I can't wait to get all the Audiobooks.
Great listen.
Finally on Audio!

On a side note it’s worth reading the rest of the series on kindle. There are 2 more books. The audiobooks leave you with a completed story but if you want more there is more!
I have listened to this series at least 10 times!

BOOK 1
Farmer Lily (h) gets scooped up in an alien abduction (along with some of her farm animals) but once her captors find she's sentient, they dump her on a random planet. This lucky girl manages to survive AND find herself a harem of 3 Shevari males. They are black and white, fuzzy, quad-armed, tree dwelling, aliens. Oddly there's no true 4some group scene, or any multiple penetration scenes, just polite turn taking and a bit of voyeurism. All of the conflicts in this book are either due to first contact or natural disasters.
BOOK 2
Lily finds a perspective 4th mate - the twin of one of her existing mates. Initially I was annoyed by her attraction to the new guy because the comfort level in this harem was so high. In book 1 they spent a whole 'wet season' in a cave together and became a real family. But I suppose this new potential harem brother was a natural choice since he was literally family. Lily also meets her guys' tribe. It's a matriarchy, all the families are headed by strong buff women who have multiple brother-wives. The leader of the tribe is the h's mate's mother so plenty of in-law drama.
BOOK 3
I found this book slooooow. A lot of it is an unnecessarily drawn out courtship with the 4th potential harem member 🥱. He should’ve been a done deal. The second plot, has the same aliens that scooped Lily from earth in book 1 causing mayhem. They basically release the kraken - aka a pile of vicious creatures they've stolen from various planets on their intergalactic journeys. For some unknown (unexplored) reason these creatures seek to annihilate the h's new peaceful tribe. The h uses her extensive (Hollywood) education to help them fashion weapons/booby traps. I wasn't so keen on the battle element. I'm a sucker for easy vibes and happy times in these kinds of books. The biggest conflict I want to see is cultural differences. Still, the book was fine. It was nice to see the h prove useful. By the end of the book Lily has a harem of 4 plus 2 adopted kids.
