Damen is a warrior hero to his people and the rightful heir to the throne of Akielos, but when his half brother seizes power, Damen is captured, stripped of his identity, and sent to serve the prince of an enemy nation as a pleasure slave.
Beautiful, manipulative and deadly, his new master, Prince Laurent, epitomizes the worst of the court at Vere. But in the lethal political web of the Veretian court, nothing is as it seems, and when Damen finds himself caught up in a play for the throne, he must work together with Laurent to survive and save his country.
For Damen, there is just one rule: never, ever reveal his true identity. Because the one man Damen needs is the one man who has more reason to hate him than anyone else.

How could the performance have been better?
I had issues with the performance at times in that the narrator would suddenly get very quite so it became very hard to hear especially while driving on the highway over the holidays. I had to turn up the volume almost as high as it would go which is headache inducing. Otherwise besides it was hard at times to distinguish voices and the narrator also had a very bored cadence to his voice. I am hoping book 2 is betterAudio issues

Would you listen to Captive Prince again? Why?
I've read and retread this series, listening to it is like a joy if discovery once more. Although I know what will happen, I'm still spellbound by the narrationWhat other book might you compare Captive Prince to and why?
Kate Sherwood "Sacrati" but only superficially, that is a great story and is one of my favourite but it doesn't have the length or depth of intrigue as this trilogyHave you listened to any of Stephen Bel Davies’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
NoAny additional comments?
I hope the small vignettes will also make the audible jumpWaited for so long
