Publisher's summary

Where others see doom, he sees opportunity. Hell Difficulty? More like a chance to thrive.

Nathaniel's bus ride was supposed to be just another boring commute. Wrong. Now, he, 23 fellow passengers, and a corgi named Biscuit, are stuck in a "Hell Difficulty" Tutorial, battling monsters and leveling up to survive.

Easy difficulty, anyone can handle. Normal difficulty, you've got to put up a fight to get by. Hard difficulty is where only the tough ones last. And Hell? That's where you have to be a bit out of your mind!

With his terrifying talent for mana manipulation, Nathaniel decides to invest every stat point into mana. Attribute imbalance be damned. It will either kill him before the monsters and his enemies can, or turn him into one of the most powerful beings within the system.

Never underestimate the guy who has so much Mana it should kill him...

Follow Nathaniel's crazy journey as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!

I really liked this story

I loved the plot and the characters. I like the logical, less emotional MC. I think it could have had less fight scenes and more dialog or interactions between characters, but otherwise I really liked the book. narrator is also great in my opinion

interesting start

Enjoyable and engaging story/plot. Good amount of action and World overview. Great take on the tutorial troupe that you see, while the mc isn't the typical hero, he's not an anti hero either.

Pros:
plot line and story development
character progression
engaging narration

Cons:
Mc does mental jumps and though like a ADHD kid on sugar.
Characters don't really get flushed out enough to make them engaging.
Mc's state choices are questionable. (even the character releases this but doesn't attempt to fix it at all.)

Main Character Just Not Relatable

He is mean and unkind to the people around him. He's not heroic. Yet he's not a well formed anti-hero as he lacks that kind of charisma. The author tries to set up a dynamic where he struggles against his kinder nature to be hard. It just isn't fleshed out enough. As a result the story is unfulfilling for me. Narration was fantastic.

what?

the MC has no redeeming qualities and the logic jumps made for thought processes / conversations made no sense. Narrator did an excellent job, but this is not the book for me.

really good!

This has to be one of my favorite books to date. Not only is the MC not overly powerful, he is powerful don't get me wrong but he works his butt off for all of it. He is an ass but that is the best part finally anC who isn't overly worried about saving everyone and everything and worrying about how others feel about him he just wants to learn and get strong and screw everyone who trys to hinder him. Anyways great story, narrator did an amazing job, fantastic progression and I can not wait for more books to come, let's just hope this is not a one hit wonder and the author keeps it up because a book like this will only get better as it progresses.

I could see the story improving with each chapter

at first I was simply intrigued with the overall story yet thought this was so so overall yet it turned into an amazing book at about the half way point. it's like the author took a ton of workshops to improve and actually took the advice, becoming an author I will enjoy reading more of on the future.

Even thinking of him as the villain wasnt enough.

Mc isn’t just an a-hole, he’s petty. He is so hard to listen too

Exceptional

I'm happy to see the reviews jump up a star from yesterday, it's a very enjoyable novel. Some of the lower reviews clearly didn't finish the book, are being nitpicky, or it just isn't their cup of tea. The mc is a bit of an asshole, a somewhat unhinged pragmatist, but there is also clear character progression the further you get into the book. The tutorial is on hell difficulty for these characters, I saw a different review calling it pedestrian without acknowledging that there are tiers of difficulty and that it appears that only the extremely gifted are naturally on that level. Even the book acknowledges that sometimes it seems a bit easy but also that the people with them are odd, slightly off in different ways. There are still deaths even amongst the gifted. I'm excited to get into the long haul of this series, this book only covers a few months of the several years until they either complete or be forced out of the tutorial. We haven't even really gotten any backstory for any of the characters. We got a little bit for the MC and Hadwin but everything else is still a bit of a mystery as to why these people are the way they are. I found it all very exciting.

Next big thing

Mark my words: this is the next big progression fantasy. Great story. The adequate amount of frustrating in the best way.

Summary is a lie

This is not anywhere near as good as Primal Hunter or Defiance of the Fall.
The characters are flat and lacking in details, the fights are cookie cutter and lack luster.
The floor themes are scatterbrained and inconsistent.

it's a frustrating listen, but an interesting concept.
This is a good Mid to Low tier LitRPG. Whoever wrote the summary claiming it was on par with Top tier titles was blatantly lying and was probably paid to write that.
