I listened and reviewed the other books separtely so this will mostly be about Dan and Mark.
I really liked Dan. He is p..Show More »robably the most laid back go with the flow member of the group. I really liked him and Sophie together too. The conflict of the story was how can Dan get the girl that his friend Mark likes... grrr. Sophie made me so mad with this one. I thought Dan's reaction was very realistic and I understand why he felt the way he did. Even though Mark was acting very childish about it, I kind of understand where he was coming from. What Sophie did was not cool but I like that she tried to smooth things over on her own without Dan's help. Dan and Sophie really were great for each other. 3.5 stars
After how Mark acted in Dan's book I was glad to get his side of the story. At this point he is the lone single dude in Molly Riot. After playing at a festival with another band, Mark kind of gets his mojo back and meets Allie who is a photographer at the event. They get really close really quick and fellow band made Alex just knows Allie is up to no good. I loved Mark and Allie. I was so happy Mark found someone for him. Allie was really great too. Ohh the conflict of the story. I really liked that and I loved the resolution. I wish we could get a littel glimpse of the future to see how the band recovered fully from the incident. 4 stars
Now on to the narration. I really feel like DC Cole created whole persona for each character. Maybe only I heard it but I felt like he kept each character voice for each book. The way he did Marks voice in each book was still Marks voice in his own book. I love DC Cole for rockstar books and he makes the characters sound so hot in the sexy times. Definitely listening to more from him.
Overall for the whole series 4 stars for those Molly Riot boys.
Again! I totally enjoyed this book. And, I was even more skeptical of this one than the last, or rather second since I listened to them out of order. ..Show More »After listening to the first one though, I knew I wanted to listen to this one. At the very least I would see if I just liked the previous book, or if I'd likely found another author. Jade Allen took something that I thought sounded far fetched in this one and made it believable. Not only is this not normally my sub genre, but the plot sounded like it might be a little over the top. And, short stories usually don't do it for me. They are usually too short and feel incomplete. But, yet again, I was surprised. And, D.C. Cole? His performance just brings the characters to life. Really great combination here. Can't wait to see what's next.
This audiobook was given by the author, narrator or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review vis Audiobook Boom. This a short audio..Show More »book so there aren't in depth characters. A rock star falls for a media reporter and gets her to come on tour. She knows his reputation of sleeping with many women and is scared her heart will be broken and he wonders if he'll get bored. Things move quickly so if you want a short but entertaining book this is a good one. The story is from his POV The narrator was excellent in giving a variety of male voices and happily a good female voice.. He didn't try too hard.
This is the fifth and hopefully not the last we hear of “The Bad Boys Of Molly Riot: Hard Rock Star Series. I enjoyed the entire series, each book a..Show More » stand alone featuring a member of the band. But IMO, I believe you get more out of their stories by reading them in chronological order. On to Mark, I think this book was my favorite of the series. After reading Dan’s book I was not sure how I was going to like Mark. Turned out once I got to know him he was very likable, a decent guy. He finally meets a girl of his own, Allie, she seemed genuinely nice but is she too good to be true? At least one of the band members thinks that, making for an interesting twist. Jade Allen tells their story nicely, knows how to keep your interest and you’ll want to finish the book in one sitting. D.C Cole did a wonderful job with the narration and the different characters.
