The British point point of view makes this zombie story a little different. The introduction of a super zombie type keeps the pressure on for the char..Show More »acters. The use of special forces for all the hard and saving mankind missions makes sense. It also adds a vicarious feeling of excitement as they can do things that even athletes could not do. i liked the narrator and thought the plot was tightly written and kept my interest throughout the all of the books. The story ends with some loose ends leaving plenty of room for another book. My only complaint is that it is a little short for my tastes. I think that if you like JL Bourne and his daybyday Armageddon series you will really like this one.
This one is even better than the first one! The action is awesome! The narration is brilliant! The story is good! This series is now my favorite in th..Show More »e zombie genre.
However, there is one problem and it is a problem that really annoys me. For the price this title is too short, it should have been included with this first in the series. This series if it continues at this rate, will be the most expensive series I have in my library. This frustration is made worse by the fact that the last 24 minutes is a preview of the next in the series, and by the fact that the narration is a little slow and is best turned up to 1.25x speed it is over in a blink of an eye! So I can’t help but feel as though I am being taken advantage of ☹
What I am about to say might make a few of you jealous... I just had a six week holiday! The bad news is that I could not and did not listen to a sing..Show More »le audio book in that time. It started to feel like I was never going to return to my audio books. I tried several times with different books from different genres. But I am glad to say the one which got me back again was a zombie story. If it wasn't was my good old faithful zombie favourites I would be faced with a boring commute and sadly more time to ponder my own worthless life... did I just really type that? I need another holiday!
The main characters are still just as hard, still just as tough, but this time round a softer side starts to come out. Don't worry manly men this is no Mills and Boon type deal.
RC Brays narration once again captures the personality of each character. Honestly, this book seems written with his narration in mind!
I find with Bray’s narration 1.25x speed is perfect, but once again this decreases what is already a short title to begin with. Since buying this one, I see the Omnibus version has been released. That does dramatically slash the cost of the series. Just wish I knew of this earlier! My suggestion is just go buy the Arisen omnibus and save yourself the money! You can’t just buy one of them and not want all of them!
If you are the type who like me, in the event of the zombie Apocalypse would be the first to go… you know… to fat, to slow, to soft, then this is the one for you. Live through the lives of those who are just mean and lean fighting machines!
The story is good but disappointing at more than a few points. I don't like pawing so much for such a short book. I understand that this is done t..Show More »o increase profits however at some point I will get mad enough to stop buying them. But like the fool I am,I keep buying them.
Book 6 was a perfect continuation of the last, and it provided more depth into the characters. I can't wait for the remaining books to be put out in a..Show More »udiobook format. R. C. Bray is perfect!
When I first started the series I was thinking what the heck all I do is listen to space operas and James Patterson books. Then I got into this book t..Show More »he sheer military prowess captivated me not only was it realistic science fiction. It was downright hard-core military. These authors got military doctrine down. They even didn't screw up the Navy doctrine. Everything was precise down to the letter. This prequel is no different I cannot wait for them to finish the story however but I appreciate this prequel perfect perfect perfect. I recommend anybody who loves sheer military doctrine along with a good solid storyline to do this series. You will not put it down, you will not stop listening to it. All you will be able to do is bite your nails and wait for the next book to come out because this is the most exciting storyline I have ever listen to in the last three years. Thank you Mr. Fuchs and thank you for all that you do for us military guys! PHOORAH! SSG, US ARMY DAV-Retired
Another awesome book in the series but I really wish the author would advance the storyline more and stop jumping all over the place tell the story fr..Show More »om multiple points of view and just stick to telling it from team alpha's point of view, they are the only reason I keep buying the books to see what they face next.
