This was a pretty good story. I really liked the heroine, she was funny, witty and smart, not the whimpering, simpering chew on bottom lip heroine. Th..Show More »e hero was okay too, I would have liked him a bit more sexy and arrogant, but not a bad arrogant. The H and H did have some good chemistry and there are some nicely written sex scenes, not to graphic, just the right amount.
The story line and plot were very good. The villains were definitely villains! Oh my... they were bad. LOL
There as so much dialogue throughout the entire book which was fantastic. (I like lots of dialogue)
I really liked some of the secondary characters as well. Looking forward to Leopold's book for sure.
As for the narration. It was just okay. The narrator seemed so monotone and a bit robotic throughout the entire book. She really needs to put some emotion in her voice. The men sound like men which is good but still some emotion would be great.
My thoughts on the first book in this series was completely negative regarding the narrator. I decided to listen to the second in the series to see if..Show More » I felt any different. Not much! The only thing I will give the narrator credit for are the childrens' voices. Others were screeching and very irritating while one of the main characters, Ashton, was SO MUNDANE! Really hard to listen to in my opinion. I'm so sorry to see that Ashford MacNab reads all the series with the exception of the last release. Maybe there's hope!
Just so that I'm clear...I do love the story and Hannah Howell.
I'm so delighted that Polly Lee was chosen to narrate this book. Such a nice break from Ashford MacNab. I sincerely hope Hannah Howell continues this ..Show More »series and I especially hope Polly Lee is chosen to narrate.
