The reader, Gayle Hendrix, speaks in a monotone and you cannot differentiate characters by their voice (note: not voices, voice). The first chapter (I..Show More » couldn't get any further) appears poorly written but that may be the fault of the narrator. AWFUL!
I just hated this. I wanted to like it, I tried to like it, I was persistent, hoping at some point it would be redeemed, but I just hated it. Largely..Show More » because of the reader's vocal mannerisms, but also because of the authors choice of words and phrases for various situations. The story line was confusing for me from the beginning but what actually got me vocally irritated was that it kept on striking me as a bate and switch for a woman's erotic novel disguised as a sci-fi.
