This book really surprised me. I wasn't expecting this story to be a captivating, emotional, funny and romantic....but it was.
The main c..Show More »haracters are both very emotionally hurt individuals. Iain is a tortured romantic soul and Page is a sassy smart-mouthed wench. When they meet they are drawn together both emotionally and physically then set out on a journey to overcome their insecurities and find love and family. The minor characters in this book added so much emotion and humor (it's really unfair to call them minor). The narrator did a great job with this book. Hope he reads the next book in the series.
This adventure has hostages, murder, romance, secrets, anguish, lies, silly nudity, and just cute fun. I am looking forward to book 2.
Tanya Anne Crosby and Ewan MacRae are a successful and excellent combination. There is little to say that is not a RAVE! My one REAL Complaint..Show More » is that this doesn't make sense as a stand alone book. The elements are there, and the information is presented yet it makes very little sense without the knowledge and ''experiences" contained in the previous books. I loved them all but omitting one or reading them out of order seriously subtracts from the experience knocking it from a 5 star to barely a 4 star. And it is such a shame to waste such a enjoyable journey.
NARRATOR: Ewan MacRae is the perfect person to deliver a great performance in this specific genre. His sexy brogue and Command of both male and female voices full of individuality and personality attest to that fact. Altho admittedly the female voices lack some femininity.
Surpassed my expectation. Excited about putting story in perspective, as I had already read of "guardians of the stone" novels. Loved the performance ..Show More »and storyline. I am new Fan! Thanks for creating such an enjoying series.
It is a good story that has so many twists, and we get to revisit characters form the series, but what I was most happy about is that Page got her clo..Show More »sure with her Father, Hugh FitzSimon, who gets a chance at redemption (not that he deserved it IMO). Ian's son, Malcolm MacKinnon is all grown up and troubled that his premonition is not believed. Quite a lot is happening in this short book, so I would suggest to read/listen to "The MacKinnon's Bride", Book 1 of the Highland Brides series before listening to this. Braden Wright delivered another great listening experience, his voice is perfect for the story. I could listen to him for hours on end.
