This is an amazingly funny book, I had tears coming down my face from laughing so hard. Mainly because I find myself doing the same types of things t..Show More »hat the wonderful charachter Becky Bloomwood does to get out of debt. Positively fabulous! If you thought Bridget Jones' Diary was funny, wait until you read/hear Shopaholic.
I really enjoyed this book. This book is witty and funny right from the start. It is hard to put down just waiting to see what will happen next. The r..Show More »eader, Emily Gray really brings the characters to life. I can't wait to read the other two books in the series.
I call this a page turner even though it is not a mystery because I never wanted to turn off my MP3 player. I absolutely loved this book !!!! I loved ..Show More »Becky, her accent, her neighbor Danny, her job and her family. I identify with her in many ways, like day dreaming about what "might" happen instead of accepting what "will" happen. I spent alot of time thinking about how Becky could "fix things" but the way things did turn out was even better than anythin I could dream up. As funny as this may sound, I almost think of Becky as a friend now.
I enjoyed this lastest Shopaholic book very much, but I found that Becky Bloomwood was at her most irritating in this book. Despite all the trouble sh..Show More »e's gotten into in past books she never seems to learn from her mistakes and the mishaps in this book are very similar to those in the other three. i.e. Becky tells a fib and finds things spiralling out of control because of her lie. Of course, she always redeems herself in the end so it's impossible to hate her, but I came really close this time. The introduction of a sister for Becky made for an interesting plot, especially since they're so different. I was very ambivalent about Shopaholic and Sister until right at the end. However, it's a definite must-read if you are a fan of the Shopaholic series.
This book is one of Sophie Kinsella's finest....I was a bit worried after the 4th book, Shopaholic and Sister, but this book came through...I didn't ..Show More »want it to end! I hope she keeps right on going with this series...
If you want a fun, laugh-out-loud book, this is the book for you! Very hard to stop listening to it when you arrive at work and have to get out of the..Show More » car. Also, although you want to get to the end of the book to see how Becky will get out of the messes she gets into, you are sad when you reach the end. I have loved all of the Shopaholic books and Mini Shopaholic didn't disappoint me a bit, and as usual, Emily Gray did a superb reading of the book. I can't imagine Becky's voice any other way! I love Becky but as always, there are times when I want to slap her to get her to wise-up, but that's just her lovable, frustrating self. The only disappointment I had with this book, is that it seems to be the last in the series. I have written on Sophie's Facebook page about this, so I am hoping that she writes some more.
Ok, I give in. I admit it. I'm a Shopaholic Junkie. I know ... it's chick lit, but I can't help it. I'm in love with Becky. She makes me laugh ou..Show More »t loud. Her convoluted sense of reality and her warped values are winning character flaws that make her my guilty pleasure. Obviously, in my more sane moments, I realize that no one could be as stupid as Becky's husband, Luke. He falls for her twisted logic every time. In reality, at best he would never have married her and at worst he'd be out the door at the first sign of her outrageous justifications. But I hope he never figures her out.. I say Long live Becky and Sophie Kinsella!
If you're this far in the series, you enjoy these fun books as much as I. It's a whe new crazy venue, and Becky is growing...slowly. (Ok, Minnie is pr..Show More »obably maturing more quickly.) Just beware, there is a cliff hanger ending, and the follow up book better be soon!
