This short story take place just prior to Cry Wolf and I think is so important to the story line. I'm so thrilled that this is now collected and in p..Show More »lace in my iPod playlist and narrated by (**big sigh**) Holter Graham. The story and narration are excellent. It doesn't matter that it's not long - you only wish it was longer - but wait it is - it just slides right into Cry Wolf after all. If you are a fan of Patty Briggs and love the off shoot of the Mercy Thompson series about Anna and Charles, this is a MUST buy.
This was one of the few books I could not put down. I read a few of the reviews and thought I would give it a try. It was great. There was just enough..Show More » suspense to keep you on the the edge of your seat and also keep you guessing as to what would happen next. I am a big fan of romance novels, especially those that have a great storyline. Some authors get too wrapped up in the sex aspect and forget to actually create a story. Ms.Brigggs did a wonderful job. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next story in this series.
I normally don't write reviews but I have been waiting patiently for this book and I must say it does NOT disappoint! Without a doubt this is the best..Show More » of the Mercy Thompson world novels. I will be certainly listening to this one over and over right along with Moon Called, Silver Borne and River Marked. The story keeps you engaged from start to finish. The interaction between Anna and Charles is great showing the vulnerability of Charles and the strength of Anna better than any of the previous books. The plot is a great detective story complete with good cops, bad cops and questionable government agencies. The Fae are shown in a different light and WOW what a cliff hanger ending!! The only negative thing I can say is now we have to wait a year until the next book. :-(
This is the best In the series thus far. The story was detailed with great insight into the Charles's past. I usually multitask when listening to a b..Show More »ook, but this one reeled me in so often I would find myself just listening. Worth the credit and more.
