If you're looking at this program because the title implies that this program is easy and lots of fun, look elsewhere! I was expecting a light delive..Show More »ry, humorous anecdotes and mnenomics. Instead I found this to be one of the dryest and fastest paced programs I've ever heard.

This book is better for someone who already knows a good deal of german and wants a rapid fire review. Or if you find programs that pause so you can repeat or guess the phrases annoying, you may like this format. But if you're like me and need to really think through and repeat a phrase for it to sink in - you'll be left in the dust with this program. I must admit that the downloadable .pdf file is a nice feature. My guess is that this program was designed for print, and squeezed into an audio format as an after thought.

Listen to Audible's sample clip and several other of their offerings before spending your money!

I've been studying using the Pimsleur audio series, and I thought I would switch to a different audio program to learn different vocabulary.
..Show More »r />I am thus far dissappointed in the format Idiot's Guide presents.. it expects you to repeat (as in rewind and do over) the dialogs three or more times changing your speaker balance to particpate. This just doesn't work well in the car. Also, I expected at level 3 that there would be better 'immersion' in the program.

If you went through earlier Idiot's Guide language courses, you're probably used to this, but I think I'll stick to Barron's and Pimsleur courses.

This is a great way to increase your vocabulary after learning the basics with a German language CD. Love it.

Taught be a bunch of stuff I didn't quite have a handle on, but the re-reads that didn't get edited out, are quite annoying.

"The Complet Idiot's Guide to Italian, level 1" would probably be adequate for individuals who studied high school Italian 10 years ago, and just need..Show More » a refresher course while waiting in the airport before a 3 day weekend in Italy. However, if you really want to learn Italian, this is not the audible for you. The pauses between each phrase are not long enough to repeat before the narration continues. Also, almost no grammar is reviewed. The accompanying PDF barely does more than put the words on the recording onto paper.

I've purchased several language tapes/programs in several languages and I find this one to be remarkably effective. Well worth the investment.

I suppose if you buy the other books in this series this last installment might be useful...maybe. But it is quite literally a reading of a vocabulary..Show More ». There are four installments, I suppose according to the chapters in another book? Hard to tell since this is the only one I bought. But as a stand alone audiobook it is virtually useless. E.g. "plate." "il plato." etc. very odd.

I've tried several language programs for French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. This was one of the worst. The phrases don't stick in your mind. This is a great buy if you have a good understanding of Japanese grammar, but need to add more words to your vocabulary. Before you buy this program,..Show More » listen to the Audible audio sample - the entire program sounds like that. I don't mind the "no frills" approach, but I can see how it might drive some people batty. You can also see WHAT words you will learn by previewing the PDF file that comes with this program before you buy it.

Overall, the words you will learn are very useful. There are a few "duds" like floppy disk and magnetic tape, but most of the words are worth knowing. As you can see from the PDF file, the words are only written in romanji. So if you are a person who learns with kanji, then this might not be a good fit for you.

The one thing I wish Audible could have done with this book is make the chapter markers at more convenient places. The first half of the program has chapter markers at the beginning of new lessons, which is great, but the last part of the program has random chapter markers, so it's hard to get to a specific section. The content of the program is solid though and once again, I would recommend it to someone who is looking to add more words to their Japanese vocabulary.

I have "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Spanish, Level 3" and it includes dialogues, quizzes, etc. I wonder if Adam was talking about a different book ..Show More »entirely -- maybe he was referring to "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Spanish Vocabulary." In any case, this book of Spanish Level 3 is quite useful and uses a number of good dialogues with different verbs.

With a lot of language audio learning, you need a written guide to follow along, which makes it somewhat useless as an audiobook. But, this method of ..Show More »following a dialogue and repeating the phrases is really nice for when you're in a car or working out. I am somewhat conversational in Spanish in terms of expressing myself, but I have trouble understanding speakers at normal conversational speed. This guide is helping me a lot.

I purchased it because I've read other Idiot's Guides and enjoyed the detailed information. One might say, "You should have known better." I guess so.
IF you're looking for a "Fast" overview, this book is it. Don't look for the Step-by-Step details of getting your business off the ground. Fore example: The book mentions getting a Tax ID number EIN, but it doesn't ouline step 1 then two. Maybe I'm looking for too much.
If you know nothing about business, this book might be for you. If you looking for great detail, keep looking. If you want an overview and suggestions for starting various businesses, this might be for you.
I give it 3 Stars because it's a good over view, but if it gave more details, I would have given it 4 Stars, 5 if it had links and forms.

This is a very good book. I thumbed through a friends copy, but didn't have time to read it. It is tough, however, to listen to. The subject is den..Show More »se. I have a graduate degree and accustom to tough subject matter, but this book begs to read in a non-liner fashion (no pun intended). You need to skip back to previous sections. Also, some of the content is in table form, which doesn't make for good listening.

I got a lot of information from the book, but it rapidly shifts from one chapter to the next, and sometimes if I wasn't listening carefully, I wasn't sure what book of the Bible he was talking about. This was a minor problem however, and it's a book that I think I would enjoy listening to several more times. I learned so much from my first listen.
