This is book 1 of the Kowalski Family series. Keri and Joe are high school sweethearts. Then Keri goes away for college and to find professional succe..Show More »ss as a writer for a magazine. Joe ends up being a very successful horror novel writter. Fast forward 20 years and Keri's boss finds out she has history with Joe and forces her to interview him or lose her job.
I liked many things about this book. Keri was a realistic heroine. She had her flaws, her attitude and a good sense of humor. Joe, was a real man and I loved his determination to get a second chance at love with Keri. The story was interesting, the passion hot and the situations that happened were very relatable. I really liked the POV that the author uses for this book. She lets you know what both Joe and Keri are thinking and feeling. Best of all, the next two books are even better that this one. This is a sweet, funny and sexy contemporary romance and I loved it.
Narration: Lauren Fortgang does a very good job! Every character had a distinct voice and she definitely added life and emotions to the story. Will look for more books narrated by Ms. Fortgang.
I was stuck driving across country listening to this. The lead female character was so incredibly ungrateful and B-it-Ch-Y the entire time, up until ..Show More »the last 10 minutes of audio. THE WHOLE time she just complained about everyone being nice to her, she gets knocked up by a guy she doesn't even know and he gives her an apartment, job, and $ and she just pushes him away. He's such a nice guy that by the end you can't WAIT for him to give her the boot. Now that is NOT romance. horrible, that and the author must have an obsession wtih fatty food. Every chapter and one of the characters is eating something digusting.
I LOVED this book. This is actually a series although Audible does not say it in the description. This is the third book in the Kowalski Family series..Show More ». This is the right order: - Exclusively Yours - undeniably Yours - Yours to keep This is the first book I've listened to by this author and it certainly will not be the last one.
Emma convinces Sean Kowalski to be her fake fiancé while her grandma comes to visit her so that grandma can stop worrying and enjoy her own life in sunny Florida. This is a light, funny and very romantic story. The ending is quite emotional. Great narrator also. I've you have listened to Susan Mallery books (like the Buchannan series), you'll love this book and this series. Shannon Stacey has just been added to my authors-I-love-list.
The narrator. It was hard to tell if the writing was cheesy or if it was just the way she read things. Bad inflection, bad acting, bad reading of dial..Show More »ogue. Little differentiation between voices, really awkward stressing of words, and the "smile in her voice" was uncalled for when telling me about vacuum cleaners--a hint: they aren't that exciting. Bad bad bad. Maybe I'll go grab the book from the library and give it a try that way.
I loved some of this series but this one was basically nothing but a story about the sister in her thirties who returns to her hometown interested in..Show More » a local police officer who is the best friend of her brother. The entire book is mainly about the brother talking to his friend about not letting the sister down. She is a grown woman for goodness sake just ridiculous. I think it is scraping the barrel to make another book. Waste of money I have tried so many times to finish it but just can't.
