Following J.P. Beaumont is very addictive and the more I know him the more I love him. J.A. Jance is a master author!

The story was ok - continued to listen - but the reader was too loud, aggressive. Made parts hard to list to. That made it a challenge to finish but..Show More » the story was compelling enough to listen to the end. Not so thrilled about the character's dislike of homosexuals (mentioned it once), then he said but this one's ok. That was not necessary to the story and was a turnoff.

A friend had introduced my to J.A. Jance books and I started the the Joanne Brady series and have enjoyed it. Read a few of the new Beaumont books bu..Show More »t now have started at the beginning and working my way though. Beaumont has changed over the books which I find interesting. In this book Beaumont thinks or feels the main suspect is being framed. The book has interesting twists and turns and I was beginning to wonder how it was all going to tie together but Jance did a good job doing so. Enjoy the descriptions of Seattle.

I have been a fan of J.A. Jance and the J. P. Beaumont series since I happened onto the author about 6 months ago. The plot is comfortably predictable..Show More » [there is no doubt that Beau will solve the crime] but the mystery is interesting and does keep one guessing until all possible suspects have been cleared. The narrator, Gene Engene, is just about perfect as Beau and presents the other characters--including children and women--in a subtle yet distinctive manner. I recommend this book to anyone who likes good stories, good characters, and knowing the good guy will win.

Gene Engene does a great job. His narration gives word pictures of each character. If I was an artist, I could draw each one based on his characterizations.
Thanks for allowing me miles of enjoyment on my otherwise stressful and boring drives to work.

The story was not Jance's best, but still kept you in suspense. I missed Seattle. And felt that J.P Beaumont was not at his best.
As ALWAYS, Gene ..Show More »Engene's performance was so good. He pulls you into the story, so that you "see" all of the characters, and feel an integral part of the story. I love the continuity of the characters.
Start "reading" at Book 1 to get the full story, otherwise you will never know the real truth about Ann Corley.

Gene Engene is a gifted narrator. I love his deep, pleasant voice. I look so forward to each book in this series. I will be very sad to say goodbye to J.P. Beaumont, and all the other characters I have learned to love since reading my first J.P. Beaumont book. Thanks J.A. Jance for a wonderful series!

It should be considered an ID-theft and a fellony to have anyone else do the part. I'm slowly running out of Beaumont/Engene/unabridged books. I see a difficult withdrawal process coming my way!

I am a HUGE fan of JA Jance. I love all her books. However, I am totally obsessed with the JP Beaumont series. I stumbled upon this great character(Be..Show More »aumont) after all 14 books in the series had been written. The first book in the series was enough to hook me into the next 13 in short order!

I have watched JP Beaumont change work partners, love partners; drink too much, enter rehab, leave rehab -and have to deal with sobriety and all that temptation!

Jance has the ability to bring the reader (listener) into the story in such a big way. Of course, no great book can make it on audio without a terrific narrator-Gene Engene. He has an enticing, sexy, deep voice and yet he can do almost any other character. His other voices are quite believable-even the women-as hard as that is to accomplish!

I love Gene Engene and hope that he will once again appear as JP Beaumont. I believe there is still alot of life left in Beau, and I want him back. Thanks for a lovely series .

I am a r..Show More »esident of the Seattle area and it is fun knowing the cities, streets and landmarks. It is disconcerting to have so many of them mispronounced and detracts from an otherwise good story. Narrators should review the locations and be more familiar with names and places.
