I enjoyed this fast paced audiobook. It fast-forwards events that in most longer books go into too much detail (I call filler words) and become boring..Show More », yet the crucial areas of the book are described in detail, making it interesting from start to finish.
I was happy to see less filler words used--most people can imagine an elopement to Nevada without having every detail spelled out for them, or flights to and from England on a private Jet, without every detail being drawn out.
Although the narrator did well, I think another narrator could have done better, especially during the sex scenes.
All in all, I would recommend "Wife By Wednesday" for someone wanting a light entertaining afternoon or evening.
I like the fresh plot. Though the romance formula is in tact, Bybee offers and interesting plot in this second of a series. Also, she does a good jo..Show More »b laying the groundwork for follow-ons. This novel is self contained, as was Book 1. This series creates a universe and a set of woman within the universe. After listening to two, it is clear where she is going but I think the plot lines will have enough variety to keep one interested.
As a critique I would liked to have amped up the conflict. I also would have liked to see a little more depth from Eliza -- all in all, a nice listen. Pull up a chair near the fire, surf the web on you iPad and listen away. Eby does a good job narrating. I give it a thumbs up.
I just loved this book have read the other two and enjoyed them very much however the narrater was just so good in this book it was my favourite. ..Show More »Her english accent for Gwen was brilliant as were her voices for the men. One of the best narraters of many books I have purchased.
I love the way Catherine had enough of the characters in each book to feel you knew them it worked just so perfectly.
The storyline was a bit deeper than usual chick lit I had trouble putting it down just an interesting Weekday Brides set.
I have never read Catherine Bybee prior to reading these three books but will be looking out for any more of her books. She writes a very good light book do hope there are more to come.
An Uplifting Story with a little romance thrown in
Bybee keeps the series new and interesting by changing up the plots in interesting ways. Unlike other series which offer cookie-cutter plots, Single b..Show More »y Saturday is the story of Karen who is a dedicated volunteer to help young teens. The story is about what she is willing to sacrifice for others and a message about how to stand by the people you value in life. Bybee offers example after example of strong support through Karen's actions and the actions of her friends.
This book has romance but more importantly it shows the value of great friends and family and their value. This book is light on the raw romance and more heavy on relationship aspects and the value of individuals' ethics. I give it a thumbs up and I think the series is alive and thriving.
The series continues with the fifth in the series. This book is all about Judy. We met her in book four as Michael's middle sister. The couple met ..Show More »at the end of book four and we see their relationship move forward in this novel. The novel was good but the foreshadowing was quite heavy handed and you actually saw it coming way far in advance -- what you ask -- well you have to listen.
There were a couple of surprises that Bybee let Judy wield that made the twists and turns interesting and there was a moment or two of high suspense -- Bybee is not really know for her drawn out suspense moments. The narration was good.
All in all, a solid increment on the series. I understand that the next one is due out in April of 2015.
Book 6 in the series is set in the Florida Keys. It is a continuation of from previous books. Meg meets Valentino, the owner and proprietor of an ultr..Show More »a secret, ultra-primate resort. When the ultra-private nature of the resort is threatened and that of Michael personal life (Movie Star) is jeopardized, the good guys embark on a good old who-did-it. Except, this who-did-it has a flavor of a thriller that gives the overall novel more depth and texture -- well done. This is a romance novel, heavy on the romance (very light on the sex scenes). Although parts are predictable, the narrative moves along and the plot points are riveting. Tanya Eby continues to turn in great performances.
In this book we meet Valentino's sister Gabby. My money is on book seven being about her. I hope so, because we learn a great deal about her in this novel and it will be interesting to see how she evolves. Bybee has done a great job keeping the series fresh and interesting. I give it a big thumbs up and look forward to book seven. Give it a read.
This is the last full length book of the series and its conclusion. Bybee developed a series of romance, tension and intrigue. When you evaluate a ser..Show More »ies you want superior character development woven with interesting plot developments that link within an overall environment. The author achieves success on all accounts.
This series will appeal to romance/thriller readers of adult age. Her dialog fits nicely into the story and I enjoyed the repartee. Some of the settings and the backstory has been done and overused in many books, but that will not detract from your overall enjoyment. The narrator, Eby, does an outstanding performance.
