I found the cover of these books very misleading and I would never have purchased the series based on their covers except that the first book was on s..Show More »ale.
I thoroughly enjoyed the stories and unlike so many other fantasy series there are not a huge number of characters to become familiar with to get involved with the storyline.
The first book was a little slow to get going but by the fourth book I was caught up with the story and the characters. The ending in the fourth book was poignant and an appropriate conclusion to the series. Please accept my recommendation.
In this sequel everything begins just as the first book ended. Alissa had found the book called the First Truth. The book pulls at her and Alissa find..Show More » it almost unbearable to not give in and just take the book. She knows that would cause her untimely death by Bailic. Having completed the series I have to say I am disappointed there are only four books. As stories go this one is one of the best. I don't know if it i..Show More »s Dawn (Kim's) writing but coupled with Marguerite Gavin's narration it makes me listen to the series often, it is just so enjoyable.
The story leaves me thinking I know the characters. I find them to have real depth and have developed a real fondness for them.
I would really love to see a sequel to the series. I find I have question at the end that stretch my imagination.
