I am a..Show More »bout tired of the same old-same old in the Dark Hunter series, even though, I do generally check them out at the library. I loved Acheron and there are a lot of other good Dark Hunter ones mixed in there, too, but some here lately have just not seen anything new and a little boring. If you like Kenyon, I believe you will enjoy this one, too.
Although I enjoyed this book I found it difficult to listen to and it took me longer than usual. I felt that the story line was complicated with lots..Show More » of characters, different species and so if you were not paying 100% attention you missed what was going on. I felt like I spent a lot of time hitting rewind to figure out what happened. I listen to audiobooks so I can do thing around the house or workout. This way I am not glued to the couch. Unfortunately this for me was harder to do. Having said all that I did like the book. I read the first book and could not remember it all so got the audio version and then decided to continue with the audio version. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon and have ready just about everything she has written. I would not say this is my favorite of her books but I did not hate it.
The only trouble I have with this series, and it's not the writer's fault, but when it's a year between each book then it takes you a long while to pi..Show More »ece together the who, what and why of the story. This is definitely not a stand alone book as you will be hopelessly lost and you'll miss 2 other great books in the series.
But that said, it was thoroughly enjoyable with great characters from Bks 1 & 2 and the relationship between Evalle, Storm and Isaak is coming to a head. Lots of action, ultimatums, promises, betrayals and disappointments as the story moves you along to the next level. Slight romance - would have liked more.
