This book does not focus on getting to know characters trying to survive. It is all about the technical aspects of items needed in an economic collap..Show More »se and warfare tatics. If you are making a prepper list then this book is for you. If you are looking for a book to draw you into a story then you might want to keep looking.
This book starts out extreamly well, I enjoyed the travel and struggles of the characters, but as the day to day life is developed the story seems to ..Show More »have a hard time of finding its footing. That said I enjoyed the book and especially in the beginning had a hard time dragging myself away from it. I felt that reviews that are overly sensitive to the fact that some of the characters are Christians were weird as this fact does not overwhealm the story but just pops up here and there in a totally natural way, there is no preaching or overarching nature to this, it is just the background of a few of the characters and it is expressed in the common fashion it should be. I felt that the ending was sudden, I was looking for more story when things seemed to just, well, end. If you like to dabble in the Prepper world and have an affinity for that kind of news and information then you will love this book, if you like a good "what if" story from time to time you will like this book. If you read mostly self help books then this might be a dud for you.
I wish they would have told me that this was just a crapy version of cliff notes to the first two books. My guess is Mr. Rawles needed an addition to ..Show More »his bunker so he pasted and clipped his way to this novel. Really you could not have any more detail? Why would you re-hash so much from the first two? Because it was already written and easy to do. Mr. Rawles you are better then that.
For the first time reader I will say buy the first two books they were OK, but then just re-read the first two and you have the third. I feel bad for his publisher he got hosed on the thrid book on the contract.
