While most men cannot perfect the sound of a female's voice I feel that Phil Gigante did a more than acceptable job at it. The story itself was wonderful as well. I highly recommend this one!!

Nice romance, mild suspense with time-travel historical basis. I enjoyed the general time travel and romance story line, but the heroine's initial motive for romance was somewhat irritating (she wanted to get her "cherry plucked" - repeatedly noted).

Although part of a series - this story could easily stand alone. It was certainly good enough that I immediately purchased others in the series!

In "The Dark Highlander" we follow the life and love of Dageus MacKeltar through time and back. Suffice to say the characters are wonderful, sassy, humorous, and heart wrenching.

The story is complicated and intriguing. I found myself holding my breath and crying at times throughout. We pick up where the fourth book ended and learn more of the characters from "Kiss of the Highlander". This is one of the reasons I think I enjoyed this book so much. I felt bereft when "Kiss of the Highlander" ended and wanted more. I was totally delighted and never let down to this end.

The characters are charming, at times ruthless and always deep and rich. Adam Black returns initially to my chagrin. Without giving away too much he is in fine form and I found myself liking him more and more.

Phil Gigante narrates all of the books in the series. His accents are flawless to my untrained ear. So I can only offer that I enjoyed the narration with no problems and a great deal of joy.

I highly recommend the entire series.

I've loved Scottish Highland novels since I read The Bride, by Julie Garwood. I considered her the "go-to" author of highlander novels. Many authors pen Scottish romance novels. I recently read a review of such a novel that said, "Highlander novels: if you've read one, you've read them all." Well, that is certainly NOT true of Karen Moning's series.

Every book in this series is filled with fantasy, true love, and the hottest highlanders in the genre. This series has surprised me with fresh and new storylines that had me swearing each book was better than the last. Just when I think she can't possibly top her previous book, she blows me away with a uniquely beautiful, sexy and engrossing story.

This is the last of the full-length books in this series. It involves a 9th century legendary Celtic Druid, Cian Mackellan who is stuck in a spell that has imprisoned him in a magic mirror for 11 centuries. Tricked by a dark sorcerer, Cian convinces a beautiful graduate student, Jessica St. James, to help him get free of the mirror. He wants vengeance on the powerful sorcerer who bespelled him. With the Jessica's help, Cian revisits his land in the highlands to exact his revenge in the lands that he grew up on. This could be a stand alone listen but, if you haven't already listened to her Highlander series, I would treat yourself and start downloading the ent..Show More »ire series today. Anything she writes is an automatic download for me and this series has been just awesome.

Coupled with great time travelling stories, Phil Gigante brings all of Karen's books to life and his Scottish accents are so sexy and spot on (and I'm Scottish), I love his voice, its one of the best on Audible.

Worth the credit? - Hell yes.
