I generally enjoy Maya Banks' work, but this one left me a little cold. I didn't like Gabe very much as a character and, while I thought I'd grow to ..Show More »appreciate him more as the story progressed, I didn't. I didn't mind Adam Paul's narration - he does speak rapidly but to be honest, that was a plus in a book I just wanted to get out of the way.
Based on reviews I didn’t get the first book in this series, but I don’t feel I missed out by not getting it. In saying that, based on reviews I got t..Show More »his one and I did enjoy it. It was a great escape into Bethany's and Jace's world.
Bethany has had such a hard life and she has nothing. Jace is a powerful, wealthy man. The instant he sees Bethany he knows that she is different than any woman he has ever met and he intends for her to belong to him. Now only if he can convince her that she is good enough for him. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions with some hot sex thrown in.
If you’re a fan of Maya’s then you know her books have erotic content and this is no exception. I agree with fellow reviewers in the opinion that this was well worth my credit.
Burn is the final book in the Breathless Trilogy. The first book "Rush" was Gabe's story, the second book "Fever" was Jace's story, and lastly "Burn" ..Show More »was Ash's story. I enjoyed this world given to us by Maya Banks. I've always been wishy washy about her books. I have a love/hate relationship with the author. This is one of her series I would recommend to others. Ash McIntyre, self-made billionaire, through years of hard work and determination, made it his goal to separate himself from his worthless money hungry family. Ash is known as the cool, down-to-earth guy everyone loves. But on the inside, he's much, much more than that. With his two best friends and business partners settling down with the women they love, Ash is feeling restless & like a third wheel. When Ash runs into Josie while walking thru the park, he knows there's something about this woman that's different. There's an undeniable chemistry and Ash's has this extreme desire to have this woman in his life. He has to make her his... He wants a dominance and submissive relationship. Josie is the complete opposite from Ash. She is very vibrant & artistic. Some how they compliment each other through out this book. I enjoyed having the characters from previous books play big parts in this book. I've always liked Mia, Gabe, Jace, and Bethany. I definitely recommend Burn especially for those listeners that like plenty of steamy scenes and dominant males.
