Among the greats of 20th-century horror and fantasy, few names stand above Richard Matheson. An Iraq war veteran, serving between 2004 and 2005, Kevin Powers is the author behind The Yellow Birds, which won the PEN/Hemingway Award and the Guardian First Book Award and was a National Book Award finalist. Following on from his debut poetry collection in 2014, Power’s latest published book is A Shout in the Ruins.
