Ivy and Carrie love their new classroom even if the new teacher is a little strange. When Mrs. Huffity asks for volunteers to care for an egg, Ivy doesn't budge. She's had a few scary dreams about that egg and wants nothing to do with it. But when trouble comes, Ivy defends the egg. In her desire to save the baby that hatches, Ivy is tossed into the middle of an adventure. She never imagined one dragon could be so much trouble.

Ivy, Carrie, and David stay after school to work on a special book project. When the lights suddenly go out, Mrs. Huffity leaves Carrie in charge with instructions to keep everyone inside. Carrie never imagined how hard that could be. Goblins attack and her friends are scattered. Now it's up to Carrie to keep everyone safe, including a baby unicorn that the goblins desperately want to take. Can she protect the unicorn and save the day?
Carrie is spending the summer with her new step-family. Although she's nervous about having a new little sister, Mrs. Huffity warns her that things aren't exactly as they seem. When Carrie stops a group of boys from teasing Shannon, she discovers that something is different about her step-sister. It will be more of a transition than Carrie ever expected. After all, her step-sister isn't human.
Mrs. Huffity's fifth grade class has a new project. It's a wish garden. Unfortunately, some of their wishes come true. Carrie, David, and Ivy accidentally travel to another world. To get home, they must save a prince from a curse and stop an evil sorceress. Along the way, they might even become friends.
Sixth grade can be tough, especially in Dusky Hollows. Carrie's magic ring wants to go to the new student, Everett. He's a wheelchair bound sixth-grader with cerebral palsy. But once he has the magic, everything falls apart. Carrie and Ivy get into trouble at school. Everett is kidnapped. And now Ivy and Carrie are in a race against time to save him.
