Reagan Darby crams her dad's urn into an overflowing backpack. His last wish: deliver the urn to Rocky Mountain National Park and release his ashes into Lake Nanita. To find closure, she'll hike the same route they completed after her latest involuntary stay at the hospital.
While nursing some drinks after a terrible day at work, Tucker Candle spits out his rum and coke when a stranger across the bar turns water into wine. This stranger has a warning for Candle: skip your planned business trip tomorrow. With a clear head the next morning, Candle resumes his normal life. But when Candle comes back from his trip to find his pregnant wife missing and a dead man's blood seeping into his bathroom floor, the washed-up weirdo's counsel doesn't seem so foreign now.
If the cabbage man doesn't arrive soon, another meal will slip by and the king will still be allowed to exude foul breath from his lips. While the pastry chef and the royal food taster plot in the kitchen, the butcher keeps a close eye on their plans. And don't forget the sausage-lipped prime minister...he's got a secret buried in that mustache, no doubt about that.
"I really wanted to like this..."
A month ago, the stranger at the bar warned Candle that involving himself in the company's dealings was going to lead him on the path to ruin. Only now does Candle understand the depth of that statement. For every move he makes to uncover the truth, the company counters. They spread lies and send men to kill him. They target his family and try to frame him for murder. This company harbors a terrible secret, and they'll commit heinous acts to keep it under wraps.
"Amazing end to the series."
Candle thought it was over. Back to the status quo. That's why, when a letter appears in his mailbox from someone he thought was dead, he's dragged back into the middle of the whole mess. He'll have to scurry down to Texas to save the life of a man he doesn't even know, because if he doesn't, his wife and unborn child will again become targets.
"An action packed sequel."
