One year after the Michaluk Virus decimated the southeast, Ethan Bennett and his six companions have become as close as family while facing the trials of living in a drastically changed world. Then a mysterious woman arrives at their safe house in Alabama, pleading for assistance in getting into Atlanta. Despite their suspicions that the woman is hiding important information, Ethan and his friends agree to help. But when they’re suddenly forced to flee from the infected, the cohesion the group cultivated is shattered.
"the ending made up for the rest of the story"
It has been almost two years since the Michaluk Virus outbreak began, and Remy Angellette has helped her friends establish Woodside, a walled-in community of survivors in South Carolina. But underneath the veneer of simplicity of their day-to-day lives, not all is as it seems. Dr. Derek Rivers, a former CDC scientist who was involved in the virus's testing, has come close to a cure for the virus, and he's used it to cure Ethan Bennett - who promptly begins to show strange side-effects from the cure.
"Unlikable and mean characters"
When Woodside fell, Remy and her companions barely escaped. Now they're scrambling to recover their shattered lives and find a new place to call home. But their friend Brandt Evans is still missing. Desperate to recover Brandt from the military's grasp, Remy and her friends set out on a mission to find him - or die trying. Their search takes them back into the heart of Atlanta. What they find there are the seeds of a betrayal they didn't expect and a world wholly different than what it had been when the Michaluk Virus struck.
"Interesting twists and turns"
In the heart of Atlanta, the Michaluk virus has escaped the CDC, and its effects are widespread and devastating. The virus infects nearly everyone in its path, turning much of the population of the southeastern United States into homicidal cannibals. As society rapidly crumbles under the hordes of infected, three people – Ethan Bennett, a Memphis police officer; Cade Alton, his best friend and former IDF sharpshooter; and Brandt Evans, a lieutenant in the US Marines – band together against the oncoming crush of death and terror sweeping across the world.
"some annoyances but i enjoyed it"
Brandt Evans is floundering. Leadership of their dysfunctional group wasn’t something he asked for or wanted. Their problems are numerous: Remy Angellette is grief-stricken and suicidal, Gray Carter is distant and reclusive, and Cade Alton is near death. And things only get worse.
"after 2 so so books, a satisfying conclusion"
In January 2009, the Michaluk Virus escaped from the Centers for Disease Control and decimated the major city centers of the Southeast. These are the stories of how it all began.
"Gay zombie book..."
