This book consists of 35 letters that I wrote to my aunt while I was serving in Vietnam from October of 1967 1968. The letters contain my thoughts as a young Marine and continued through the end of my tour where I was still young but far more experienced. The letters came to me when my aunt mailed them to me 33 years after Vietnam. One of her comments was she believed that I should have the letters published. My thoughts were that they were too personal to be published and would not be of any benefit to anyone.
"Not at all what I expected"
This is a collection of my experiences concerning close calls. These close calls range from being shot off of a tank to a car crashing through a plate glass window of a laundromat. These experiences were all life-threatening, and by miracle, good timing, or luck I was spared any serious injuries from any of my close calls.
Words and feelings is a collection of 41 poems that I have written beginning in 1974. I found that writing poetry was the quickest way to get to my feelings to help me understand why I felt the way I did. After serving with the Marines from October 1967 to October 1968 in Vietnam, I had a lot of feelings to try to understand. The 41 poems presented here are from a collection of over 200 titles I have written. My friends have encouraged me to publish all my poetry but I chose these 41 to share at this time.
