Publisher's summary

Phantom Waltz is a story of love and of victory over great obstacles.

The first time wealthy rancher Ryan Kendrick sees Bethany Coulter, he falls in love. She shares his passion for horses and can light up a room with her smile. She is perfect in every way - except a riding accident years ago has confined her to a wheelchair. Bethany is convinced that she will never marry or bear children. Now Ryan wants to change her mind. As Ryan tries to win Bethany's trust and her heart, he must use all his resources to learn how to care for her. Phantom Waltz is a truly heartwarming work that portrays both physical challenges and emotional triumphs.

Catherine Anderson has won nine consecutive KISS Awards for her books. A New York Times best-selling author, she never fails to create characters that capture listeners' hearts.

Critic reviews

"Although some readers may be hesitant to read a romance involving such a major physical disability, Anderson makes it not only plausible (with seemingly good research to back her story up) but romantic through and through." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Anderson comes up with another winner by deftly blending sweetness and sensuality in a poignantly written story that proves true love can overcome any boundary." ( Booklist)

Lovely

A lovely story if you just want to listen to LOVE. Nothing more and nothing less. I have enjoyed it after listening to a few very heavy books. This one was Pure Relaxation.
The voice of the Narrator just belongs to story, a great combination.

Beautiful & Heartwarming Story!

Catherine Anderson has a special way of making you fall in love with her characters. Each story is written so well and with such amazing detail. I love the way she moves the story along, not spending too much time on the insignificant situations and really elaborating on all the special ones. The Kendrick/Coulter Series is one of my most favorites of all time!

A tender romance between two strong-willed survivors.

Catherine Anderson can always be counted on to deliver a heart-warming story that really allows the reader/listener to know and care deeply for her characters. That said, I couldn’t help but think this story would have benefited from just a bit of pruning. But the ending delivered a hard-earned sense of completion, and the book opened my mind to aspects of paralysis I hadn’t thought of before.

just ok not great

this story was ok 3/4 in everybody is too perfect and overly sweet so it makes the characters a little unbelievable even sweet natured Ryan was a little over top Bethany I can understand at first she can't seem to make up her mind about having a relationship but come on she flip flop she gives me headache and when I think this book will end it's like the story starts again everything is too much in this book

very poor disability representation

Don't pick up disabled people. Don't push their chairs. Don't treat them like children or dolls. I wanted to just punch Ryan after the second time he completely ignores Beth and hauls her out of her chair and calls it a prison. Accessability devices are freeing.

Unforgettable Gut-wrenching Love Story

What a book! You never forgot a book that makes you cry and feel gut wrenching emotion. I was sorry to see it end. I stayed up the whole night to complete. Ryan and Bethany had a passionate, all consuming love. You could not help but root for both of them as they work through their many trials and tribulations. Both characters were very likable and the narrations was flawless. I am definitely interested in the rest of the series. .

Family and love

Good story but totally ruined by the horrible narration😢 Should have used the original narrator 👍

Phantom /waktz

What did you like best about this story?

I love the romance story behind Ryan and Bethany. The entire book was so moving. This is what love is, loving someone more then you love yourself. Beautiful.

SWEETNESS!!!!

Sweet and pure! This is the right book to listen after a hard day , so romantic and peaceful that you could listen all night long. The narrator only makes it more enjoyable, just the perfect voice for the storie. If you are looking for something to relax your mind it is the one.
Ryan is just that kind of man that every woman wants for a husband, he moves earth and heaven to make Bethania's life wonderful, even having such a major physical disability.

the overly-clinical details were a major turn-off

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I enjoy Catherine Anderson's stories, and will read others; but I stopped listening to this one a little over half-way through. Why? The 'love scenes' became so clinical, you'd think that her gynecologist was talking to her instead of her lover. If I wanted a textbook, I would have ordered one. The general story idea is excellent; but I honestly believe it could have been handled much better.

What could Catherine Anderson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

If the author had made the story less clinical, I would have at least finished it.
