Publisher's summary

An all-new audiobook based upon the acclaimed Star Trek TV series!

Captain Michael Burnham and the crew of the USS Discovery are finding that each day is a critical adjustment to their new lives and new missions in an Alpha Quadrant more than nine hundred years in the future. It’s here that Discovery is reconnecting with various worlds where the cataclysmic event known as “the Burn” has decimated Starfleet and, with it, the United Federation of Planets. There’s been precious little time for the crew to truly come to terms with their present reality, as their devotion to duty hides the emotional stress that could impact their effectiveness, and even threaten themselves or others.

After a successful journey to yet another planet cut off from the Federation, Discovery picks up a distress signal located in a nearby star system—a plea that harbors roots from their past lives in the 23rd century, and which may now lead to an entirely new crisis, plunging them all into mortal danger…

Unanswered Questions Finally Answered

Loved this book! Yet another stellar example of what can be accomplished if you are willing to wait for the answers, even if it takes 900 years. Take the time to listen and follow along, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you January LaVoy for narrating this book.

Thank you Kristen Beyer for writing this phenomenal book. So the movie Galaxy Quest and Star Trek Voyager both mentioned here and viewed by crew members of Discovery.

Truly Enjoyable! More Please!

This was a wonderful addition to the Star Trek Discovery book series! First and foremost, January Lavoy is my favorite narrator for Star Trek books. No disrespect to Robert Petkoff who does an excellent job, but January never fails to capture the accent, tone and speech patterns of the characters. She's marvelous! Now to the story. Wonderful followup to an aspect of what they left behind in the 23rd century. This was a solid new adventure. I do hope that we see more and more Discovery stories released in the coming years. I need more, and please make them available on Audible! While you're at it, the autobiography of Mr. Spock should be narrated as well.

A visit to the past in the future

I really loved this audiobook. The performance is excellent, The story is an exciting adventure that connects the Discovery crew with the not so friendly descendants of an old friend,
