This is the first time I’ve left a review on an audio book. The narrator reads in a very staccato and choppy manner and it was very hard to maintain attention. In fact, I’m planning on getting the book on my kindle to read due to missing at least half the book because I couldn’t focus on the words being read. Too bad they don’t give refunds for issues like this. I will be very observant of narrators from now on, that’s for sure.

Narration seems robotic and monotone

He reads the entire story with tension in his voice as if he’s leaning over a flashlight telling a ghost story to a bunch of kids. With the constant tone of tension, the story gets monotonous and the actual moments that should create a sense of foreboding get lost. I wanted to finish the book for the story but couldn’t get past the way Neil read it.

i’m definitely on the fence with this book, i thought the story line was really good but in my opinion it has way too much blood and gore, and it’s very very descriptive.

not really too bad but I think it could have been better. I feel it just missed. it had a lot of good characters but I think the plot got just a little broad. overall it was a good listen

Oh my goodness!! This book is so intense. I could not read it at night. I love how Mr. Hart told his story, it really gave me a good fright!! Will be reading more from this author!!

The underlying story of the book is great. I rarely say this about a book but they could have done with the ghost fight at the end of the book. Things would have been great just leaving the ghost out of the book and that surprise me because I love a good ghost/ horror book. Still glad I got this book thou.

I listened to this book to and from work, so an hour each way. Took me a little over a week to finish it but it definitely made my drives less boring and gave me something to look forward to. Definitely didn’t see the lineage twist coming at the end!

I decided to read this book because of the reviews that other people left. I did not like the first chapter because it was very descriptive and depressing. The author is very animated and it times makes you feel somethings about to happen when it doesn’t. When I got to the climax of the book, it went on too long, and I found myself getting bored and just wishing it would end.
