loved the background and setup. some of the cliches were absolutely eye roll worthy. I think I enjoy this writer for her ability to put fantasy into narrative.

Overall this was a great book. The plot was interesting enough to hold my attention and the heroine wasn't a fainting violet. My only issue was the accent the female narrator used when she was reading Bull's lines. It was like she listened to the worst imitations of a southern accent from movies and made it worse. It was a good read, and I wouldn't have been mad about spending a credit on it if it hadn't been part of Audible plus.

at first I thought it would be like every other love story it kind of is, but the twist and the turns make it interesting. it's about time to think chick get the hot cowboy!!

A gripping, intense and steamy ride to go on. This story had a little bit of everything: suspense, intrigue, sweetness and an alpha male who tends to rescue his lady a lot. I enjoyed going on this journey with Bull and Lily.
Christian Fox and Lucy River are always outstanding. I loved listening to them bring these characters to life.

I’ve recently discovered Helena Newbury. I love her plots, which are more romantic action than my normal read.
I don’t enjoy the short chapters and it doesn’t always make sense to me why it doesn’t continue.

Lucy Rivers has a wonderful female voice, I do not like her male voices very much. Christian Fox is pleasant to listen to.

I enjoyed my first Helena Newbury audiobook. Loved the narration by Christian Fox especially! His self deprecating humor was spot on! I also enjoyed hearing Lucy Rivers. I think I enjoyed hearing the book through their performances rather than reading it, as the plot was good but not great. Lily is a mafia princess hiding out in Texas after her uncle murderer her best friend. Bull is a cowboy and radio star. The meet cute was fun when Bull saved Lily from an actual bull at the rodeo. Bull is a horn dog but is wildly attracted to her curves. Lily is put off by the skinny girls who chase Bull but eventually starts to see him. However, she never trusts him enough to share her truths and this eventually gets her exposed to the FBI and her location revealed to her uncle’s henchmen. Bull falls in love for the first time and continues to pursue and try to protect Lily. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but there’s an HEA, no cheating. I had some good chuckles esp the Ferris wheel ride and the carnival. One of the carnival foods was deep fried ice tea on a stick! I’m from Texas and this cracked me up!
