Publisher's summary

Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable. To the outside world, she is just a loner with an attitude. When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions - and nothing else. Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed, blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own. Two broken souls that can't be healed. They can't be saved. Abby and Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another but within themselves. If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn't always found in the light.

A good adult/YA

I would put this in the adult/YA genre if there is such a thing. A young girl who has had a hard life including abuse and betrayal, will be 18 in a year, when her Gran, the only person she has ever loved, is killed in an accident. Being thrown back into the system is not an option for her so she is on the streets looking for other options. A boy she knows from school and a man she has just met, but appeals to her no nonsense attitude, are both trying to help her..,or are they. I liked this book more than I thought I would, being it does not fall into a genre I usually read. Warning, it has pretty brutal abuse sections so it may not be for every one. The ending has some satisfying twists and some unexpected turns.

Good story, but hard listen

The story was really good, but some parts were a bit hard to listen to. It was a very emotional story.

Dark

This author has a true talent. I never expected this book to get this dark because they never do but I couldn't stop listening. I was enthralled.
I was so glad of the ending.

Such an intense story!!

T.M. Frazier is an amazing writer!! The imagery that is put forth in the story made me feel like I was there. When the characters hurt, I hurt. When they laughed, I laughed. Everything that was lived in the pages felt like I was living it too. I loved how the characters were everyday people, keeping secrets like everyone else. Loved the book.

Dark and twisted

First off Abbey talks too much, I was almost tempted to keep fast forwarding through her monologues. However, I just stuck it out and kept on until the end...

Loved it!

I wasn't a fan when it skipped ahead four years but it was all great. The narrators dont switch back and forth but the female narrator tells the story well. Definitely worth a listen!
