Publisher's summary

Kane Andrews, also known as the superhero Tempest, has returned from his absence to a world filled with Supers and a government that won't be satisfied until all Supers are eradicated - hero and villain alike. Kane and his group try their best to stop the evil Supers, but they're hopelessly outnumbered. And when the evil Supers put in motion a plan that spells disaster for any Super or human who's not on their side, Kane's not so sure that he and his people can stop them. Not only that, but with the government hunting them down, it looks as if Kane may be on the losing side of an oncoming war between the humans, heroes, and villains.

*sigh*not bad.

I do enjoy this book Siri so far. What is annoying is knowing that the character we are following is supposed to be the second most powerful person on the planet and yet every single fight he gets into who gets his ass beat. It’s very weird how after the seven or nine fights it really feels like he only stood a chance in one fight. One thing I will definitely give this book series is it has a nac for not following the standard hero formula this which a lot of story’s have done over years. I’m hoping when the rest of the series is added he dose feel as powerful as he should be.

some good story, but things just took me out

the narrator is great. I could clearly tell who each character was. the story so far has had some bumps that knock me out of the immersion.

overall good, story moves to quick

first off I really enjoyed the first couple books and look forward to the next in the series, only complaint is that they move way too fast, I would like to see more story in the books. The story could easily but the 15hr mark. best of luck author, looking out for your next in the series

Great story, horrible ending

Great book, fun to read. But the ending was not good. And before you start it keep in mind the rest of the series is not available on Audible. #justsayin

Pass on this one.

Written for teens. The hero is stupid and egotistical and therefore hard to like. The superpowereds series is better. I would say pass on this one.

A let down.

Who writes a super hero story where the hero gets his ass kicked almost every single time he fights? Really? Everytime. Seriously. He can barely even take the normal people. It is a good premise I suppose, but it is just done so poorly. Character has a good power set but doesn't use it worth a crap. Everyone just beats his ass all the time. It is beyond frustrating.

To much melodrama

Yet another multi book series that is over the top with cliques.
The over self doubting anti hero.
The enemy that is over the top evil.
The hero making stupid mistake after stupid mistake giving him abundant opportunity to self obsess and self fladgulate.
Most of the book the hero is obsessing over everyone he did wrong.
We don't get to enjoy much as the one step forward three steps back format is relentless and ready to put the reader into another grueling impossible scenario over and over. I grow fatigued with this template that all these series seem to follow. The story timeline is in 6 months the government has developed an army of high tech soldiers that can easily defeat a guy with extraordinary super powers and the prison fight is just lame.

Annoying

The main character is rash, foolish, and ignores sound advice at every opportunity. Most irritatingly, he doesn't learn from mistakes or get better. I also dislike the overuse of gaslighting and "look what you made me do" tactics to control the main character.
