Publisher's summary

How long can the Jedi remain in power? How far will the Sith go to rule supreme? What chance do both stand against Abeloth?

As Luke and Ben Skywalker pursue the formidable dark-side being Abeloth, the Lost Tribe of the Sith is about to be sundered by an even greater power - which will thrust one Dark Lord into mortal conflict with his own flesh-and-blood.

On Coruscant, a political vacuum has left tensions at the boiling point, with factions racing to claim control of the Galactic Alliance. Suddenly surrounded by hidden agendas, treacherous conspiracies, and covert Sith agents, the Jedi Order must struggle to keep the GA government from collapsing into anarchy.

The Jedi are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring just rule, but even they are not prepared to take on the combined threats of Sith power, a deposed dictator bent on galaxywide vengeance, and an entity of pure cunning and profound evil hungry to become a god.

Greatest Narrator of all time!

I love all things Star Wars, and I've listened to every audiobook available, but Marc Thompson makes the difference. His ability to audibly define every single character is superb!

Marc Thompson. Enough said.

This book could suck and it would still be good due to Thompson but it doesnt its a good follow up to the last one and sets a good pace for the rest in the series. I hope these authers are thanking Marc for the performances he does. Makes these books so much more enjoyable.
Thanks Marc!

Vol you fool you.

Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Ascension to be better than the print version?

I would due to the voice acting which is top noch.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Ascension?

Where Vol mentally duesl with Abeloth.

Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have. All excellent. This still proves he's at the top of his game.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really.

An exciting Star Wars book to listen to

Just finished this book and all I can saw is WOW.
The writing and the voice acting by Marc Thompson is superb.

Marc Thompson always brings an A+ effort, not only changing his voice to reflect the character that is talking but the known characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, etc) and are always consistent & sound great for those none regular cast (Allana, Tenel Ka, Sith characters, Ves).

Highly recommend this entire series.

Full series review

I know I’m jaded but....

The Fate of the Jedi series delivers on everything you’d expect from a great story. Luke Skywalker along with his son Ben, set out to solve a simple mystery. Why did Jacen fall? And then....so much greatness happens. EU threads I’d forgotten about (Calista for one) are resolved in a fluid and natural way. Every single character has a unique personality (flaws and all). My favourite character Saba Sebatyne gets to shine in this series. Although she’s not the only one. Almost every EU character gets a role. (The ones they miss have Mercy Kill). And Aboloth is seriously effing scary. The chapter in Apocalypse where they connect Aboloth with The Father Son and Daughter from Mortis (a three arc in the Clone Wars show) chills me after every reread. 10/10.
PS Disney you own the rights. I’d buy every unabridged Legends novel. And I do mean ALL of them. I gave the new stuff a shot and am not a fan. So....$$$$$$$ for you if you do.

A great setup to the final chapter.

This book was essentially a setup to the next one. expanding on the overall story and bringing you to a point where you knew it had to come. I bought the last book even before I was done with this one because I knew I wanted to jump right in.

Better than "The Last Jedi "

Better than "The Last Jedi "
Action, adventure, character development, Star Wars music, a myth for a new age.
Disney should have made this into a movie.

eautiful Story creepy and emotional

Loving every second of this series and so many more to go it’s such a good story it’s really cool seeing Luke and Ben’s relationship,
seeing Bens character mature, and seeing similarities in Ben and luke especially when Luke was younger.
I love seeing the path Jason took to get to where he ended up. And learning so much about the force with new powers the skywalkers are learning in this adventure
all the emotions are so intense.
me and my wife are so invested in this.
