Publisher's summary

Some days, it doesn't pay to get out of bed.

That's what crosses Clint Evans's mind the minute he takes on the four thugs holding heiress Julie Rose hostage. It isn't the danger that has Clint in a lather, but Julie herself. The pretty, petite schoolteacher he's been hired to return to her wealthy fiancé is no fainting trust-fund baby. She's more of a hellcat, one who won't be deterred when she sets her sights on something. And her sights are set on Clint.

The one rule Clint never breaks is this - don't get involved with the client. He can look, but he definitely cannot touch - even if it's driving him crazy. Keeping Julie safe until he can figure out who's behind her kidnapping means never letting her out of his sight. And the closer he sticks to the feisty, seductive woman who makes him feel alive...the harder it gets for him to ever consider letting her go...

Contains mature themes.

Happy for the release

I can’t tell you how happy I am that they updated with a different narrator they have another version out there somewhere that’s literally an old man reading and I can’t get into romance book being read by a old man.
The story is good I loved the female character’s spunk and the male character is appropriately cantankerous.

Read to me, Tor Thom!

Came to Lori Foster because of the narrator. Loved this story. Loved the book. Tor's voice is like chocolate wrapped in velvet. Read to me, Tor, all day and night. xo

Recommended

Although this story doesn't take place in Visitation, Julie, the heroine, has been a recurring character since Joe & Luna's story. Julie has been kidnapped and her supposed fiancee hires Clint to rescue her. There are some interesting twists & turns with a surprising ending.

Nice story line but the narrator blew it!

liked the plot and story, struggled to finish because the narrator is BORING. His flat monotone voice was definitely not appropriate for this book. too bad, I won't buy the rest of the series since the narrator is the same.

Don’t waste a credit ….Couldn’t finish

Normally I can’t wait to read / listen to anything from Lori Foster. I am not a prude but this story has very little plot and all about sex. Didn’t even bother to finish and very disappointed.

Not the narrator for me

This book is a long time huge favorite of mine among this whole series, which I own in paperbacks, lovingly read and re-read over the years. I was not acquainted with Tor Thom’s work, but I love this book and was excited to listen to it performed.
At first I thought his reading was much too monotone and missed the intensity and playfulness of the characters. But I love this story, so I kept listening. And I’m sorry, but I will be requesting a refund and returning this audible purchase. I made it to part way in Chapter 3, and this isn’t working for me. I had feelings while listening that I wanted to snatch the microphone and read some of the passages myself just to help him understand.
I love this story, and the series, too much to keep listening. This is not the narrator for me.
