Publisher's summary

Love addiction manifests in many forms, from fatal attraction-type obsessive lust to less extreme but nonetheless psychologically and emotionally harmful forms. The most common of these is staying in a bad relationship because of a fear of being alone - the "I hate you but don't leave me" relationship.

In Addiction to Love, recovering love addict Susan Peabody explains the variety of ways this disorder plays out, from the obsessively doting love addict to the addict who can't disentangle from an unfulfilling, dead-end relationship.

Peabody provides an in-depth and easy-to-follow recovery program for those suffering from this unhealthy and often dangerous addiction and explains how to create a loving, safe, and fulfilling relationship.

Narration was a bit blanned but the information and reference material was good. Would read it again for the practical Information.

so enlightening

great information. highly recommend if you think you might have love addictions there are worksheets in the back that help you assess your current relationship with love addiction. the only thing i disliked was the repetitive mentions of god, especially at the end. a lot of people have religious trauma and that word is triggering. using a general term would be better

Outdated

There has been a lot discoveries in attachment theory. The content is very dated, no wonder it’s free.

Not that helpful

To tell people to pretty much just get over it is not helpful. If they already had willpower it would not be a problem. It’s a rare addict that can just decide to stop a behavior.
