Publisher's summary

My goals for college were pretty simple: Get an education. Meet some new friends. Enjoy the mountains of Colorado. If I was lucky, find a boyfriend. Pretty sure they did not include being stalked by a magical black market. Or having multiple boyfriends. I mean, come on. What are the odds?

Unfortunately, my birth parents were mages that left me orphaned at a young age. Instead of growing up surrounded by spells and magic, I grew up with normal humans. The world might know about magic, but that didn't mean they accepted it. Mages have no rights, and my foster parents tried to stamp out the tiny bit of magic I held on to. Notice I used the word tried? I manage to sneak in a few things here and there. The perfect temperature pizza? Not a problem. And I've never had a bad hair day in my life. Don't even get me started on red lights....

But it was those little things that put me on the black market's radar. An untrained mage with little knowledge of the magical world was easy pickings. Now, the only thing standing between me and a whole lot of unpleasantness is the pack of hot werewolves that made me theirs.

Contains mature themes.

Pleasantly surprised!

You know what, I actually really liked this one! It's relatively low angst, the men adore her, and there's still enough danger to make it interesting. Sometimes I read too many books with an enemy to lover trope, or with at least that one brooding alphahole, especially in RH's. But every once in awhile I need something easy. Sweet. Endearing. A good palate cleanser in between more intense books. That's what this book is and I actually really loved it. It's a pretty slow burn. There was maybe one orgasm in this first book but I'm sure it'll pick up steam as it progresses. There will probably be a mm aspect explored later on, as well, in case that's not your cuppa. It's definitely mine! I recommend this one for sure. And the narrators? *chefs kiss* Perfect. Loved them both. Southern or Western accents can sound silly sometimes when certain people try to imitate one but that really wasn't the case here.

Thoroughly enjoyable RH

Our heroine Sophia is a freshman college student so I guess this story comes under the academy genre, but she is attending a regular human university. Its an engaging, fairly light story and the guys are caring, protective and sweet.

This is a slow/med burn RH, the series is slow build. There is a little bit of heat, and a hint of mm.

The narrators did a good job, I am looking forward to book 2 coming out on Audible (I already own the ebooks).

Boring characters AND story!

I don't know where these ratings are coming from!!! I don't understand how anyone can think this is a good story. First off, its way too predictable and the story just exaggerates the most mundane, boring activities like the writer just doesn't know what to write all of a sudden and just takes a vacation from the plot. For example, the characters would start with some basic small talk and then the all of a sudden the FMC just highlights that they all of a sudden go into silence.... for no reason. This happened like 5 times within the first 2 hours, so the dialogue between the characters is basically all small talk and nothing even close to interesting that supports the story. Honestly, there isn't much of a real story beyond her meeting multiple guys to have boring small talk with. The guys are hella boring too, with such forgettable personalities. The only difference between them is they're names and what they do for a living. I mean they have next to nill depth at all. Wow this was a mistake. If you want to read an actual good reverse harem, try any of Crystal Ash's reads. She knows how to do a reverse harem justice!

I just don’t get it

Like a lot of reverse harem, the relationships felt too quick and forced. It seemed like YA writing with mature thence, but no depth. I will just drop it into my archives and forget about it.

It's like a PG RH...

Female narrator was awful, male, however, was pretty good. He's the one who earned the stars. Story is too boring to continue.

I love the narrators.

I am so picky about voices in audiobooks but Mia is amazing. The story was good as well. Not what I was expecting and I'm excited to see what is next for Sofia and her pack.

The Best Story I Have Read in a While!

Let me start with saying that Dakota Brown is a new author to me and I am happy that I decided to give this series a chance. There are several reasons I enjoyed this book and among the top few are: no other women drama, The FMC knows she is not a badass and is smart about it. She doesn't fall into the same "to dumb to live" mistakes other FMCs do when they try to be badass. She actually has a healthy sense of self preservation., She does not lose herself completely in her guys and keeps up her friendships that she made out side her "pack". I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately went and bought book 2. I would recommend this book to anyone that was looking for a story that only had a little angst and was mostly light hearted.

Refreshing and delightful

Such a great heartfelt, slow-burn story. There was drama, but not within the team/pack. It only strengthened the newly found bonds of the FMC and her roomie, along with a trio of hunks. I was especially impressed with Sofia(FMC) and her strength and her endearing humble confidence. I can’t remember the last book I heard where the FMC didn’t constantly asked “why” after everything a man said in the book. Many people confuse strength with stubbornness. You can still go with the flow and not be a push over. There was minimal internal dialog. a pet peeve of mine- when a character has a full 10 minute talk to themselves in the middle of a conversation with someone…like really??
*insert eyeroll here*
So THANKYOU for creating humorous and heartfelt dialog within the characters, you really get the vibes of genuine people. I felt this story had a very healthy portrayal of relationships and teach the meaning of strength in numbers. Can’t wait to devour the next book!

A Great New Series

This is my first Dakota Brown Book and I’m loving it. My only grrr moment was the cheating kiss. Other than that, it’s awesome. Check it out!
