Publisher's summary

Langley Vaughn is in desperate need of a date. But not just any date. She's looking for a date to the wedding from hell. It isn't every day you're forced to be in the bridal party while your first love marries your archnemesis...otherwise known as the world's worst stepsister. The entire situation is a nightmare, and Langley is sick and tired of taking orders and forcing a fake smile. She needs to find a date who's not afraid of her family's money...someone willing to shake things up. Someone ready to go to war with the well-to-do. She needs someone who won't back down.

Iker Alvarez would do anything and everything to get his hands on some quick cash. Thank goodness for a desperate, pretty little rich girl with too much money and her heart set on an outrageous scheme. Being in the right place at the right time might just be the answer to both of their prayers - and this smart soldier has never let a golden opportunity slide by. Only, he didn't plan on liking the blonde socialite as much as he does. He is totally unprepared for the pull he feels toward her, coupled with his growing desire to protect her from the vultures and villains living under the same roof. He knows he isn't the guy Langley can count on in the long run, but damn, if he doesn't want to do everything in his power to be that man.

Contains mature themes.

Awesome

This was a great story showing the haves and the haves nots live. I felt for Icker and Langley not being able to continue and possibly to explore what they found in each other. I guess this means I have to continue to the next book. The narrators were great and making it a great listen.

Spoiler alert. This is book one of 2

Because of the ending, you have to buy the second. The endings in real life often suck but I buy the books. I don’t really want them to end like this one. I’m promised that the next one ends well. Guess I’ll find out.

In Luv-Wrong Time

Enjoyed this book. Hate that it is a 2 part story though. Feel like it could have been a little longer in order to get the ending. Langley has a lot of misfortune when it comes to love and the wicked step mom and sister. Believe she has let most of it happen due to not stepping up for herself instead of always keeping the peace. Iker changes tghat perspective for her and helps make her realize she is worth and can do more.

Cute Story, Female Narrator Robotic

I enjoyed the characters, and the story, even if the authors include some mild woke propaganda in the story. Specifically, there's definitely a theme of white privilege and reparations. I wish they'd just leave that junk out and tell the story. The only other major detraction from the story was the female narrator. She was horribly robotic. Male narrator was great.

This one tugged at my heart just enough!! 💗💗

I wasn't going to write a review as I'm sort of over that with so many audibles in my library. But every now and then you listen to one that you just want to share your thoughts like this one. Girl in luv is not your typically written I need a date for a wedding to get my family off my back and the wedding is my awful stepsister, and an awful stepmother and so on. Oh It is about that and so much more, especially if you're a fan of J. F. Harding. He narrates with so much emotion and (swoon) that you can't help but get engrossed in his voice. Its lovely and romantic to me. He's always a choice when I see his name. I wish he'd narrate more. I don't like to rewrite what the story is about so I won't say much more other than I enjoyed this too short romance that started off as a fake wedding date and turned into more...And, there's a cliffhanger, book 2.... . I need my HEA as soon as possible but on the flipside, the next book in this short series better have J.F. narrating again. He was so passionate as usual. I've not listened to Sofia Willingham often and definitely will again should the opportunity arise, and they were good together. I enjoyed the story, the drama surrounding the characters and the narrators. I only hope its not a long period of time in between the books to complete the series. If its too long I sometimes forget the original storyline and hate when that happens...But Enjoy!💓💓

unexpected

This was a free audiobook that I certainly did not expect to love, but it was one of the best stories I've listened to in a long while

Really good

It kept my attention throughout the book. Narration was great. Good story line and spice. I do wish they would have added both books together. The books are short enough to be one book. Left on a cliffhanger.

MUST READ

I started this book with no knowledge of what it contained and I regret NOTHING! As soon as I’m done typing this I’m running to go buy the second book! The ending was kismet and I loved every word.

Luv’d the Story

I feel in love with Langley and Iker. Was cheering them on from the start.
Of course her stepmother and sister were perfectly despicable.
I did not care for the female narrator, sort of monotone and lost me a bit when she tried to represent a male character.
Other that that it was an enjoyable book.
