Publisher's summary

No matter how many times you die, it still sucks.

For Hudson, the virtual world of PrimeVerse isn't all bad. It's beautiful; much nicer than overpopulated Earth. It almost feels like a vacation except for the volatile wildlife, lack of any amenities, and - oh yeah - the inability to log out.

Exploring the world, learning his class, and leveling skills is all fun and games until a powerful rogue player with a vendetta shows up to wipe out Hudson and his primitive tribe. Thrust into a conflict he didn't create, Hudson is forced into a cycle of respawning where he learns that even death can be used as a tool. So much for that vacation.

It's not like he signed up for this. Or even went willingly. but when life hands you lemons...use them to kill the dog-size spiders that are trying to eat your face.

almost 3 stars

yes it's a decent story that really drags and the main character can be really dumb and his friends are dumb and the bad guys are smart and crazy.

I dont usually write reviews

This series is kind of a sleeper, a hidden gem. I really enjoyed listening to it. it is a Litrpg story however the Main Character (MC) is just a normal guy. he isn't over powered in the least. he is forced to use his head and figure out things each step of the way. Sure he gets a few unique skills that definitely help him out but they aren't game changers or even powerful in the long term of character development. If you enjoy watching characters grow and even fail at times, I highly recommend this book. It is well worth your time. The narrator knocked it out of the park, he really brings the story to life.

Funny and enjoyable LitRPG

I enjoyed listening to this LitRPG audiobook. The author had some interesting ideas, though I did find the MC to be a bit on the dense side. But that was clearly a deliberate choice on the part of the author. I'm interested to see where the story goes from here. The narration was quite good.

The MC is enjoyable and the story is entertaining

The MC is generally smart, the story is interesting, the conflict feels real, and I'm curious to see where the story goes. Unlike other litRPG stories where characters start off in a pre-established world, in this one, there is no pre-existing society. everyone starts off in a pristine world that has no pre-established society or NPCs, which is an uninteresting take on a virtual world. Anyway, I'd recommend this book and I'll move on to book 2 to see where it all goes.

Unrelateable

Literally just finished. Could not tell you the name of the lead character. The entire motivation of this whiner seems to be entirely, "women are irrational."

could have been sooo much better!

this story's setup is interesting but I can't not help but feel if the author had spent a bit more time on introduction and on our characters past we would be able to better connect with them. I did like the beginning it drew me in and there were scenes that had me lol but I really wish more time and effort had been put into this series it could have been a real diamond in the ruff. I'm not gonna lie after a bit it was difficult to get thru and the biggest reason I stuck with it was because I had hope that it would surprise me. it did not. I like how the game world is setup, there is cultivation, magic, core magic a little bit of everything. this story just could have gone deeper who knows maybe there will be more to the series and it will surprise us.

Great potential

So this series has great potential but the story does have a few issues.

For example when they are worried about being wiped out why don’t they just all quit the tribe of the mc so his class does not get reset?

Now to be clear I enjoyed the story that’s just an example of a question I had. I’m looking forward to when the world gets more advanced.

Excellent and original!

I love this book! I'm pretty new to LitRPG but PrimeVerse: Forced Login really impressed me. I liked the characters, except the ones you're not supposed to like, I loved the setting and system, and I appreciated the originality.
I look forward to the sequel.

Such a fun book!

I have read a lot of LitRPG and, listened to a bunch as well, this book stands out as just plain fun, with humor laced through it! It's a unique setting, no NPCs or cities or anything exist yet, the players have to do it all. The 'system' is great also, familiar enough to easily understand, but also different enough to feel unique. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the system makes it so players aren't stuck in whatever class, so they can try out everything eventually.

The plot was fast paced, and had some great twists that I didn't expect. There are a lot of moments that made me feel like "what if they did this, or that" which is great because it kept me thinking about the world as a whole.

The narration was REALLY well done, and made it a pleasure to listen to. All in all, if you are looking for a book that is just plain FUN, I recommend this one. I am looking forward to more in this series!
