Publisher's summary

He'll love him in any lifetime.

Neil isn't a ghost, but he feels like one. Reincarnated with all his memories from his prior life, he spent 20 years trapped in a child's body, wanting nothing more than to grow up and reclaim the love of his life.

As an adult, Neil finds there's more than lost time separating them. Joshua has built a beautiful life since Neil's death, and how exactly is Neil supposed to introduce himself? As Joshua's long-dead lover in a new body? Heartbroken and hopeless, Neil takes refuge in his work, developing microscopic robots called nanites that can produce medical miracles.

When Joshua meets a young scientist working on a medical project, his soul senses something his rational mind can't believe. Has Neil truly come back to him after 20 years? And if the impossible is real, can they be together at long last?

Contains mature themes.

Who says there is no second chance.

This book drew me on from the beginning. The story line was great. Reincarnation, second chance, true love/soulmate.

Thank you Leta Blake for this one, I enjoyed it.
Thank you John Solo for giving the characters a voice.

Emotional Rollercoaster!

I pushed play at 5am and couldn't stop until Audible hoped I enjoyed this program! In the past 8 hours, I have cried, laughed, squealed, growled, and flushed more than I have in the past month of reading. I don't know the last time I had such an emotionally satisfying listening experience. John Solo did such justice to the utter agony and elation shared by Neil and Joshua that I am still a wreck and will immediately seek out every other collaboration of his with Leta Blake. Her storytelling and his voice are my new favorite match!

Mysterious Ways

Not sure what I expected when I picked up this book but it was so different than what I expected. This book is full of so many feels. It is hard to put anything more to the review without there being a spoiler. There are plenty of twists in the story as well. It was such a rich story.
I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed it very much.

Have tissues nearby

Omg, I new there would be tears going into this, but I didn’t know just how many. I cried so much that I used nearly a whole box of tissues and my now my nose hurts. This is such a great story, it’s so beautiful and at times frustrating, in a good way.

NEVER DISAPPOINTED

Whether I’m reading a book or listening to an audiobook by Leta Blake, I have never been disappointed. In fact I constantly look forward to new publications by her. And she always has the best narraters to produce audiobooks for her books. 5 stars any day, any time.

How Could Josh and Neil Get Better??!! Audio!

Do not miss this book - it is intriguing and mind blowing and just plain though provoking - Joshua and Neil are in Love years ago and unable to get to the point where they are together before Neil passes away in a tragic accident. Joshua finding it almost impossible to go on - finds a love years later to create a new life. Neil, in the meantime is "reborn" and this book doesn't make it silly - nor does it make the characters reactions wrong - it is fascinating - Neil leads a life from afar - following Joshua's life from afar as a young child - knowing Joshua is somehow His Joshua - but does not interfere - and lives a productive if irascible life. Absolutely fascinating, Poignant AND I WANT MORE!!!! Leta consider a sequel to this - and THANK YOU for Bringing this to Audible! John Solo rocks! This book was a solid 5* before, It is now a solid 10! Solo has such a great ability to interpret his characters so well, and really brings the ironic and humorous moments to life. I didn't think this book could get much better, it is fantastic, I am listening to this again, just to savor it! Waiting for Will & Patrick part 7 on Audible as well - I always buy the Kindle and Audible versions of my beloved books and this is one of them!!! Love your Heat Series as well! Your Narrators are SPOT ON!!!!!! Thank you! I love the humor and the seriousness of Any Given Lifetime - it makes me laugh and it makes me tear up - i can just see Joshua at some points and my heart just breaks - Will and Patrick are a very close second - the Heat Series is great, I wait with great anticipation your next installments. Just gotta say John Solo is such a great choice especially for your more humorous characters - he just shines in AGL and W&P series - so thanks for that. He just amped up an already perfect book to the 10th Power!

Good Story Concept, provocative ideas

It's rare to find a story like this about spiritual reincarnation and speculative fiction (near term science fiction with more realistic tech). It's a weird combination, but I can't say it wasn't enjoyable or romantic. This story has many great ideas that could easily be major plot point for a longer novel or series of novels. However, the key to everything is Leta Blake's emphasis on love of her characters and their development over the past, present, and future.
At it's heart this is a romance story about second chances and lost lovers. There's complex themes and potential that never got realized sadly. The characters were fun, Neil is an old soul in a young man, who cannot accept his current surroundings or family compared to his past life's experiences. Joshua is a man seeking to find a fresh love, mourn for his losses, and find acceptance in the implausible concept of reincarnation. That alone made this an enjoyable read/listen.
It's very thought provoking, but part of me feels like there should be more exploration into the characters and longer exploration of their relationships. For instance, I feel like Lee, Joshua's husband, needed much more closure than a dream sequence, hinting at him being a type of angelic entity in the afterlife. Neil and Joshua should probably have revealed their situation to close friends; even if they don't believe in reincarnation, the truth is people who are closest to you don't care about labels or beliefs, just the happiness of you and your love. Chris, the best friend of both from Neil's past life, would likely not react as negatively as either would expect, nor would the world lambast the concept of reincarnated lovers as lunatics or mentally unstable based on the background of Joshua and Neil.
Big idea-wise, if Neil ever tells his story and explore the reason why a soul can carry a lifetime of details into a new life; it would be one of the most profound scientific discoveries of history, perhaps finally allowing a reconciliation between spiritual realms and science. That would open the plots for a meaningful exploration of existence and experiences.
If Leta ever considers going back and redoing this concept as a series, there's a lot more room to explore here and a lot more story-line if allowed to air out.
