Publisher's summary

It should have been a one-night stand.

I never intended to seduce Taushen, but things happened. I don't dwell on the past and while it was great, I'm not looking for a relationship. Of course, try telling that to Taushen. The big blue alien's in love after one night, and it's making things darn awkward. We've got bigger problems than whether or not I'm his woman, like the "cargo" of the spaceship that landed here.

But Taushen's not giving up. He thinks I'm his mate.

And he'll do anything to keep me.

Contains mature themes.

Love this series!

I have read the 15 book ice planet series and loved all of them. I have favorites, Liz in book two is outrageous. Maddie and Hassein were very fun in book eight. The stories were good, the sex was good and the characters were enjoyable. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for some easy listening reads. The blue guys are hilarious!

Hollie Jackson grrr

It’s so frustrating to rate narration when there are two narrators. One is great. Mason Lloyd has done a fabulous job with this series, I could listen to him all day.

Hollie Jackson is really hit and miss with me. I don’t like her voice ever, but the past few books have been fine. But this book sounded like the earlier books to me. Where she does this high pitches nasally whiney voice. I loathe it. It’s so much easier for me to listen to these books while I work, but sometimes this narrator ruins the story for me.

I’ve been waiting for Taushen’s story. The poor guy kept getting past over. His personality changed from eager to moody over the course of the series. Unfortunately he ended up with Brooke. I didn’t care for Brooke so much. Part of it was the narration and part of it was just her. I thought she was a bit self absorbed and a bit of a user. By the end of the book she didn’t bother me so much but she was definitely not my favorite out of all the women.

Like ending up with your one night stand

I know this is a romance series involving human females getting together with big blue suede aliens and “realistic” doesn’t necessarily get measured the same as other books. But, plot and dialogue still needs to have some logical flow to avoid becoming cartoonish.

This storyline starts with a very contrived situation involving bad aliens to get Brooke and Taushen together. I’m not really fond of “the devil made me do it” scenarios where women only have sex because of some “not my fault” external factor like drugs or bad aliens. The lack of choice just isn’t sexy to me. And yes, I realize that’s a bit contradictory because the central premise in every book in this series involves a symbiotic parasite resonating between two people, signaling them as perfect mates.

After they get together, Brooke rather heartlessly brushes Taushen off. I felt bad for Taushen and didn’t care for Brooke, so when they do get back together, it didn’t make for as fun of a time as other books in this series. There are almost twenty books in this series. The first ones were great. This book is number 15 and it shows. Not the worst of the series, but definitely middle of the pack. I waited for a sale rather than spend a full credit- at that price, it was worth it.

So good!

We love a happy ending for the sad girl who just wants love! But this time, we also get a sad boy who wants love too. It’s soo freaking sweet.

Brooke Is the worst FMC in the whole series!

Where do I even begin.. Ba-Brooke (and yes, I'm calling her that because I know she hates it and I'm petty) was a superficial, two-dimensional, egotistical tease and I truly wished much more for Taushan. She played him from the start and every single time it was her POV I wanted to delete the book from my library. the only reason why I didn't was I kept hoping she would be better... but no, worse and worse!
She treated him horribly, expected him to understand stuff no one even on Earth would understand, kept playing with his feelings.. one moment she wanted him, one moment she didn't.. poor guy, I wish he would've found another mate instead.

Taushen deserves better.

Brooke got on my nerves. Taushen deserves so much better than wishy washy, mixed messages, can’t just come out with it Brooke. I don’t care that she FINALLY figured it out at the end. I know, I know… the backstory was really complicated with everything that went on, but still. Hoping the next one is better.

birds eye view

I continually find myself pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy Ruby Dixon's genre of books, particularly the Ice Home and Ice Planet stories. Even when read out of order, they offer a fascinating puzzle as you piece together the interconnected events. It's quite intriguing to gain that bird's-eye perspective. These books are not only concise and enjoyable but also benefit from talented narrators who are excellent voice actors.

Terrible choice for female voicing.

Really bad choices made by the female narrator. I’ve heard her in many Dixon books and she’s been fine, but it made me hate the character more than the writing did. The female is written as a detestable person, who thinks the male is an idiot for not knowing her culture…most of the humans on Earth wouldn’t know her culture.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE NARRATOR/ SUBPAR STORY

What was up with that whiny, breathy, high, weird cartoonish voice she used when doing B-Brooke? I was confused because even though Brooke said she had a stutter we never heard it! Listening to that convo with her and Harlow made my ears BLEED!! They were Hollies WORSE two characters by far!! These females have sucked here lately! Brooke is a selfish tease and it was CRINGE-WORTHY watching her push poor Tauchen away only to reel him back in... I just kept saying " Oh, you poor ignorant little fool".... Yep I'm out... Dixon has officially lost her MOJO! the only reason I listened to this one after my last review is because I already had this one... I won't lie, I skimmed ahead hoping that I would at least like the last one or two...... and that would be a HELL NO!!! ESPECIALLY that French one where she's chewing on every word... couldn't even understand a 4 min sample of a 4.5 hr book.... I'm ducking out early fans... pass this one up if you're still hanging in there
