I’ve had many dogs of many species. I have been through many training sessions with my dogs...and my mother’s dogs as well. This book puts basic and more advanced dog training in a simple, easy to understand format that just makes sense. With all the training I have had, this book just puts it all together in a fun and thoughtful way.

Not just first time dog owners!

There’s some really good content in regards to behavior, play, body language, etc, but overall it’s not one that has adequate or up to date info enough that I would recommend it in regards to training. Some of the mother dog analogies were off too.

Again, some really good info in bits and pieces for new dog owners, but a lot missing, incomplete, or incorrect.

Good in parts

The advice is don’t ever use treats, make your dog into a perpetual puppy seeking mommy’s approval, ignore the symbiotic relationship that led to the domestication of dogs in the first place.

Also, the food bowl training is a tragedy waiting to happen. You may be accidentally teaching puppy to compete MORE for food and speak louder to small children. *growl, air snap, bite*

Completely missed the point
