I really enjoyed this final chapter in the Lady Anne Addison Mysteries series. I would recommend reading this series in order since the events of the previous books do play a part in this story. I was pretty excited to see how things would work out for both Lady Anne and Darkefell and was eager to see them solve another mystery. I am so glad that I decided to give this series a try.

Lady Anne has returned home to Kent after her previous adventures. There is a gypsy camp on her family's land and Lady Anne spies a man that looks just like Darkefell while visiting. She decides to send a letter to Darkefell and his family about what she has seen. Meanwhile, there are a few problems involving that she has to start dealing with including a mysterious illness and a gypsy curse.

I enjoyed seeing Lady Anne and Darkefell work together once again. They do sometimes disagree but I have appreciated watching them work things out. They have wonderful chemistry and really do make a great pair. I liked the fact that they were able to work through some of the obstacles to a relationship that they have had over the course of this series.

Danielle Cohen did a fantastic job with this book as she has with the entire series. I thought that she added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story through her narration I thought that she handled all of the different character voices very well. She has a very pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to for hours at a time. I believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of this story.

I would recommend this series to others. I had a great time with all three books in this series. I enjoyed the mysteries in each book and the development of the character relationships throughout the course of the series. I was really satisfied with how everything was resolved in this book. I would definitely read more of this author's work in the future.

As I have purchased this entire series blind on the Black Friday sale I am sticking with it. The main characters especially the female protagonist can be infuriating! She demands the highest respect from her lover yet humiliates him in public by involving herself in his affairs & telling him to “shut up” in front of subordinates. She has her good points but the way she judges Darkfell while behaving just as she likes while justifying it…. Needs improvement. Mystery is decent & bad guys get what is coming to them. On the 3rd one.

this is book 3 of a 4 part series. I do audible because I have alot of drive time during the week. I wanted to make this one last & take my time but with the plot, characters & the storyline itself i couldn't. it was a good solid story with twist & plots to easily keep your interest alive. im now waiting for book 4 to hit audible!!!

The author is getting repetitive and it's causing the narrator to slip into an automaton mode. (the inflection sounds automatic as if she's just paying attention to the punctuation and who's talking but not the meaning, a common pitfall for narrators.)

I like the story a lot, was considering not finishing but I like the characters and care about what happens. People do repeat themselves like this in their heads but it's better if the editor helps the author keep things tighter (IMO)

I think if some of the extraneous content were removed the story'd be about an hour and a half shorter and would feel more riveting.

I really liked the mystery and adventure portion of the story, meeting new characters and the last few chapters were very entertaining. However, the whole marriage question theme was too monotonous and got very boring very quickly. I found Lady Ann a bit unlikable throughout most of this book as well. I know the author wants her to be strong and independent, but I think she came off as a bit of a shrew in most of the book. Thankfully I hung in to the end when that seemed to change.
