Impressed

The story left me wanting more. Always a good sign. Love all the characters and the world building is very good.

Completing second half of the story!

This takes place right after book one. I loved seeing the growth of all the characters, the descriptions of the towns and cultures, the danger, and magic. My only wish is for an epilogue of some sort to see how they all made out after the end.

Fantastic Read

Holy shit what a book. This story was so beautifully written and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I found myself rooting for them every step of the way and I was a bit scared by the ending but was glad that it all was tied together wonderfully in the end. I would love to see a book 3 for these characters but I also understand if there won’t be one. Fantastic story!

Better than the first book.

The first book has us stuck in the academy but this second book showed us more of the world visiting different cities and cultures. It also deepened the relationship between the two MC's and introduced us to the depths of the curse. The characters in this book are great, especially how the families interact. All in all I had a great time with the story, and I recommend it. However, I didn't care for the narrator.

What a great series!

As I stated in my review of book 1, I was narrator motivated to listen to this series and I was not disappointed! Jakobi Diem is just a master at storytelling and I know this because I've listened to just about every Jakobi Diem narrated book! But I digress (haha) and will discuss the series because I can go on and on about My Guy!
I'm not a fan of teenage love stories, but this story was so sweet and endearing. Karim and Javier was a great team! I do like fantasy movies and this was my first listen and I really enjoyed it! Overall, it was great listen!

Good ending to a good story

I found myself really liking the story and the MC’s. They grow and mature through their ordeals and come out stronger in the end.
The rigid church and homophobia of the Caladeonians feels more real than fiction these days, sadly, and the contrast to the free spirits and open minded minorities is a stark one.
The narrator was quite ok, but not quite the best. Perhaps it’s just down to taste, but I couldn’t give it 5 stars.
Will recommend the series / 2 books
